that doesnt prove its the best, it just proved that the guy tuned his stuff better than the rest period, gear never justifies winning

agree to disagree?? i think the software really showed it power here by being able to tune the stages to meet the various track conditions throughout the day. i own this and the hobbywing and IMO the drk has more ability where it counts. controlling the hit. i look forward to proving this to myself soon. it certainly wasnt the fancy carbon bodies considering 2nd place had a nearly stock dr10 with 3d printed parts bolted on.

A high % of the top racers at this event were using the DRK 160 ESC. The motor used varied but the DRK ESC is the best out right now. Has a lot of great presets and is beginner friendly

The guy that won. just started Drag Racing 2 weeks or so before winning. His daughter made it to the top 16 of 250 plus entries running a DRK Esc. Dad was running a Reedy motor. not sure what the Daughter had. The ESC is the shit. Just got mine a few days ago to pair with my Pre DRK Drag tuned motor, that I have the DRK 13mm rotor to put into when it arrives on Monday.

Thanks man. Hopefully I get some time to put my car back together this weekend.

My DRK just got here a few days ago. Pairing it with my Pre DRK 4.5T Maclan V2/M Drag Tuned. Already has the Aluminum screws and has been shimmed. One of the Maclan drivers/workers suggested I get the DRK 13mm rotor and install it. So that will be here Monday and once ready, should be a beast of a combo. Running the RX8 and a Trinity DM3.5 in another rig that should also be a hand full.

Thanks rob appreciate the feedback. I need to use headphones to get the levels better. It’s a fine line of just enough to keeping a nice pace vs some dude just talking :). Working on the car today so I’m making lots of videos at the same time.

I really enjoy your videos but the background music is too loud. I can't hear what you're saying. Keep the videos coming but please turn the music down or even off.

Thanks man. I think the mixing was overly bad with this one. I edited through headphones on the latest one and set the levels for Voice up and music down. Let me know what you think. I hate to get rid of it because it ruins pace and you just hear some guy blabbing but if you can’t hear me then that’s an issue :)

Not sure why I don't see this in the esc for rc ground like my race fpv qauds (drone) like betaflight butterflight speedy bee stuff makes fine tuning . Looks like what your showing is the start of that so that's good

The Supras are awesome!! I do believe the new Proline Supra is a bit wider than the Drive RC body from what i could see. The DRK is great for people learning with the preset maps you can tweak on your own. Nothing wrong with the XR10 pro though. Seen many guys go 2 teens at 65+. Frank Ulbrik went like 1.89@75+ on xr10 and 3.5t

totally..my hobbywing setup isnt going anywhere. they have a lot of cash behind them and charlie givs amazing support to us here in north america. they say they have some stuff cooking but im not for sure its actually racer driven per say like the maclan or tekin stuff right now

i see you moved on from the maclan to the Castle system. How would you rate the experience with the Maclan and what was the main reason you changed?

and now R1. all are fine..r1 makes most power and has mosty tuning. drk was great but had lots of issues. castle is solid. no real boost and turbo sepetrae tuning

Now watch maclans head get big and prices go up.

Do you have to have the motor sensor wire hooked up for the motor esc combo to work? I soldered my motor up today did the radio calibration but have no motor response.

Yes and don’t forget to reverse throttle in the esc software

I have the esc for 2 months now. So I’m still waiting for the motors to be in stock

Lol. I get it man. I think from my own personal results and all of the stuff I have studied you’re better off to turn the motor timing down and then just add it in with the ESC a little at a time until you get to a point where you need to put it back into the motor. I think a lot of us new people last year spent a lot of time trying to control the head doing dumb things with our radios and shocks and adjusting stuff and fuel tubing and it seems like a lot of it was just hocus-pocus

My boy told me about the curve when your driving he taught me I been doing that technique since. Plus he calibrated my castle to do the same. I don't wanna tear this up a lot of money. What does the "turbo position" function do !! start that 70 and maxes out of 100%

That at what throttle % you want turbo to start kicking in.

I was under the impression turbo can't come on until after 5th stage. And the slew rate is how fast it ads timing once turbo is activated after 5th stage

I heard Tim talking about it on tsr podcast and he was saying it’s a useless feature because that defaults the entire point. But if you went 100% throttle at any stage say 3 or 4 then it would start. I think it’s a mish mash of old and new features that needs cleaned up to fit in.

You can get them without going to maclan website and getting in when they open pre orders. They put up a certain item every Friday. Good luck. And thanks for stopping by

when 11-12 of the top 16 were all running one ESC brand, it certainly is a good indicator of being the best.

Not sure why anyone would want a program throw on your your car for racing seems wrong in my opinion making a driving skills not needed when it comes to throw control needed to be good . Just pull the trigger seems more like slot car stuff just use your expo

This is the best way. You pull to 100% and dial in the timing and percentage vs trying to guess with expo and trigger pull very time. We all did that last year. This is consistent which matters the most. These races are all less then 3 seconds and you have to have confidence to pull that trigger hard when the light tree hits :)

Come on Chad I was watching you tube and adding things to my ebay like the hobbywing xerun v10 G3 4.5t and you come on talking about the maclin motor esc? DUDE!!!! I'm a hobbywing guy only bc of the track record. Just being solid I have hobbywing in all my electric builds..🥺🥺🥺🥺...I haven't watch the complete video but let's see?? Sure I'll edit? That was awhile ago lol but the hobby wing is in my b6.3 buggy and I love it. Also use hobby wing in all my fpv drones.
