Thanks for the video. Really considering getting into this part of the rc hobby. Have drones, bashers, monster trucks but this peaks my interest. Just not sure about races in my area. But my forte is auto mechanics and drag racing, have done it all my life, Mustangs , Chevelles etc so I know the game its a little different being electric powered, adds a new element. Wondering how costly the data loggers are or some of the setups your using, have not researched that part yet. How are you getting your times...from the data logger or did you have sensors on the road? Assuming the data logger. But I could watch the rc drag racing all day, or any drag racing. Love it!

Speed and times all come either from a $90 gnss we put on our cars and or a local track timing system. We get all our car data through the esc and it’s built in logging. Start my videos around March and April this past year and watch all the progression and you’ll get an idea of what goes into it and what a few different platforms will do for you. It’s all here.

Again great videos. Learn a lot from them. Got a question. I have Losi 22s with carbon fiber chassis. Castle Monster x and 7700kv Castle motor. Running 25 pinion 78 spur. Consistently in the 2.5s at 56-57 mph. Made 2 passes 2.49 at 59 mph. Setting in controller and esc timing seems to be the tune car likes but I want to get in 2.4s 60s consistent. I am thinking about doing gear change instead of tinkering with settings in esc. Timing, ramp etc. would that be a good starting point to get more time and mph out of car do gearing change?

It complicated but here we go. When it’s all said and done you have about 5/6 useable ramp speeds. Each is like one long stage. You set an initial launch point and then the ramp takes over and brings in the power at a certain speed. Then you can control the slope of that speed and finally you can change how much of a final ramp you get by adjusting dual rate. So there’s a lot going on.

Are you sure the motor and ESC are healthy? Up until last weekend, running a GNSS 2.34 with my 3.5 DRK setup was pretty easy assuming the road would take it. The 4.5 high traction tune with 35 turbo (20 can), 10 slew, .15 delay would get it done. This is in a much heavier Losi roller with 13.21 FDR. However, something seems to have changed this past weekend. Same type of tune is (was) only good for a 2.5 something. To even run a 2.4 flat required launching at 60% and ramping to 100% in well less than a second. Then, the motor stopped working in Sensor Mode. Haven't figured out yet if it's the motor or ESC (or both) that have gone bad. I'm currently awaiting a response from Maclan before send 1 or both in for repair. How did the race go?

as far as i can tell its all good. the esc was one sent back brand new from their recall. my times are the fastest they have been but ive always noticed the drk seems to like to be babied. i didnt try to see if it would run better at lower timing. i didnt make it to the race since i got stuck working at the hospital but did make it out locally on sunday and things ran good. this setup is getting moved to my dr10 in the new brisket chassis and im going to be trying a castle monster 8s and 2.5 trinity in the breakout. going to maiden it tonight :)

@@Dorkyand40 I mean I'm only suggesting, & mostly because your not running it mediocre or conservativly, your pouring everything but the kitchen sink into that thing 😂 (which I don't blame you) but I'm thinking you overloaded it with all your timing, boost & whatever else your adding to it.. 💯🏁🤙🏽Great Vids

Thanks. I had 2 drk. One of the original and it never had an issue and I replaced the cap with a bigger one. It never blew. The second drk was part of the recall. I got a new one back and that cap blew. Lots of others were as well. So I think the chip shortage and things like that made them make them cheaper. Not a big deal. The new drk has a nice one. Not as big as my castle pack :) thanks for dropping by

You just have to grab some and do the work snd log the data and see how your car reacts. All of them work it’s just what will work better.
