    Again great videos. Learn a lot from them. Got a question. I have Losi 22s with carbon fiber chassis. Castle Monster x and 7700kv Castle motor. Running 25 pinion 78 spur. Consistently in the 2.5s at 56-57 mph. Made 2 passes 2.49 at 59 mph. Setting in controller and esc timing seems to be the tune car likes but I want to get in 2.4s 60s consistent. I am thinking about doing gear change instead of tinkering with settings in esc. Timing, ramp etc. would that be a good starting point to get more time and mph out of car do gearing change?

  • @Dorkyand40
    @Dorkyand404 күн бұрын

    Just go up two and down two on pinion and test. That is the only way. Beyond that it’s all settings at the launch. Control the spin and get off the line harder

    About to order a MT12. Gonna use it for my crawlers/scalers coming from the Flysky GT3C hacked 8ch. One question. Can you set up a model. And then copy that model. So you set everything up for 1 crawler. And then just copy that profile for every next crawler you bind. So you only have to change the name and maybe some small adjustments. Possible?

    I just purchased a pair of screwdrivers bits: JIS #1 and JIS #2 #1 feels too small for most screws on a Tamiya kit. It would probably work on servo casing screws and similar smaller screws. However, the #2 JIS bit fits very snugly with zero play and a nice locked-in feel on all the screws of my TT02. I wish I found out about this in the 80’s LOL 😂

    I am a lower level team member. They really reached out to me when I was running drag rc and was doing a lot of that content. That is how the relationship started. I don’t get any inside news or first looks. Just a small discount. But I’d be buying their stuff anyway because it’s great quality and I want to fully support the team and a USA based company and manufacturing line.

    @@Dorkyand40 No hate here, but when someone mentions a brand a few times I always ask. I race at Hoosier RC hobbyplex with a couple R1 guys who are all super helpful nice guys. I went to the 3 gear R1 for weight bias as I run dirt. only issue I have had is the R1 fan mount breaking and having a tough time with fan placement. I just got the new HD and should have got the short can. Then look like I could use the stock AE fan mount from your video.

    Can you use 12 gauge on castle Mamba X?

  • @Dorkyand40
    @Dorkyand4017 күн бұрын

    You can but you really need to be skilled and have proper soldering stuff to change the wires out on a castle. I think they are big enough and any efficiency gains are going to be minimal. Clip the ends and throw some monster bullets on there and your battery and go that route.

    Very nice build, my Typhon Grom was delivered today! I also plan to install the identical motor/controller combination! But I have a question: how was the fan attached to the motor and what size is it? In my estimation, it should be a 30mm fan, is that correct? Thank you for sharing your build with us! Best regards

  • @Dorkyand40
    @Dorkyand40Ай бұрын

    Yeah a 30mm fan and it’s double sided taped onto the center brace that runs from front to back. If you’re really clever you could find the right size screw and just tap into the brace barely so you do t hit the shaft as that plastic is pretty thick.
