Finally a well made comprehensive video about the stainless steel version of the Machine Era Pen. This is my absolute favorite EDC pen. I own a standard Tactile Turn Bolt Action in titanium, a TiScribe Go, this Machine Era in brass, a Lamy 2000, a Twsbi Eco and a few other fountain pens and when I want something that will write at least 95 percent as beautifully as the Lamy with no maintenance or special care needed, this is the pen I go for. I'm glad you pointed out how smooth the threads are. I spend way too much time threading and unthreading the cap on mine as a sort of fidget action. Keep up the great videos. I am now a subscriber.

I love the Machine era classic. Made right up the street from me in Richmond VA. I have the brass because I love patina, but when the stainless is back in stock I’ll buy that too. Thinking about getting the DLC. It’s just the perfect form factor for me as i like to just drop it in the pocket.

I used to be a G-2 ink apologist (own the Machine Era Brass because of this) until I tried the Zebra gel pens and I’m convinced that the latter writes leaps and bounds better. I’m talking smoother glide, darker color, richer viscosity etc. Best part is it does NOT leak like G-2 despite being dropped numerous times and unfortunately that is important to me because I spin my pens for fun even though I’m terrible at it. I now EDC the Zebra G402 for work but still keep my Machine Era for the weekends.

PS best BEST part: if you ever lose your pen being out and about, you’re out $4 instead of $45. Highly recommended!

Yes, but I think they now have a thin option.

Sadly the classic seems to have been discontinue.

I don't have one but it looks like it does not take the Pilot G2 ink which is a negative to me. It mentioned Pilot ink but not G2. Could be wrong so verify. Also has more parts and springs. The Machine Era does jot need a spring as its machined perfectly for the G2 in, no spring needed. Just 3 parts: body, cap & in cartridge. :)

Yeah the Parker-style refills suck. I wish pen companies would stop catering to that refill.
