Nick, I was changing the ink and used your video to learn how. Unfortunately, according to Tactile Turn, you are NOT supposed to pop the button out to change the ink. In fact, you do twist the tip off for all of the pins, per Andrew at Tactile. When I popped the button back in I screwed it up and had to send it back to the company. They ended up sending me a brand new pen. Just thought you should know.

Do you have a favorite out of the bolt action vs side click? I just purchased the bolt action and I feel like I should have gone with the side click as the bolt action is very hard to push down. I don't feel it is as easy as the videos portray - could be a wearing out process? Sucks if I have to return it as they have a 10% restocking fee and a $15 re-polishing fee since its copper. Just curious if you like the side click better.

The texture is surprisingly thin so you're likely right about the texture going away on the button after some use...I sanded the ridges off on my Zirc bolt and glider with fairly minimal sanding. Also...could Glady match your clip anodization as closely as possible for you if you wanted just let me know.

I really like the design of this pen, I have the titanium short one. The action of the button is just really awful though, it's actually unpleasant to use. It's gritty like rough metal scraping on rough metal, the sensation is bad enough that despite how awesome it looks I don't want to use it. Could be an easy fix if they polish the sides of the button rather than leaving them matte finished I think. I also have the bolt action and it's buttery smooth to deploy, and very enjoyable to fidget with.

Thanks for the head's up on the gritty action. I love this style of pen but was wondering about that specifically as I have an earlier kickstarter pen from TT that was like nails on a chalkboard with the awful action.

@@BrittMasters I had this same issue from their OG long click pen. The maker actually saw a comment I left somewhere (on Reddit? I can't remember; I believe this was the first pen they ever made), got in contact with me, and sent me a new clicker. That relieved most of the issue, but it was still a little gritty until it broke in.

Good to see this review posted. Hopefully their QA is better than I experienced, one of my two had some pretty nasty burrs on the clicker that were missed in assembly and I had to remove, after that both pens broke in to be nice and smooth. I think the button and clip finish is an aesthetic choice and I happen to like the contrast. The clip design sucks though, screw depth is scary thin, hard to get in a shirt pocket compared to the original, and shallow depth make it a poor comparison to the original. That said I don't see how they could get a threaded cap in place to hold their original clip design within the dimensions of the current design and maintain a decent sized clicker, something has to give. The click action is a strong point of this design though, nothing else really compares.

Great pen, but I wish they offered a version with the milling just on the lower end where you grip it. I do own a copper bolt action and like it, but it does feel weird with the texturing on the entire length. Reminds me of finger nails on a blackboard. I might be the only one, but that is my opinion. Good heavy pen, appears to be a quality build, great reputation, I just don’t care for the feel in the fingers.
