Luxurious Hotel Vs. Asia's Biggest Slum Dharavi (Two Different Worlds) $1000 Taj Mahal Palace

Mumbai is the most expensive city in India and is known as the City of dreams. In this video, we will explore the contrast between The Taj Mahal Palace, a five-star, luxury hotel, and Dharavi, Asia's biggest slum. For us, it feels like Mumbai has a bridge between two worlds where the rich and poor live side by side 🇮🇳
If it’s your first time in Mumbai, you can't help but notice the extreme divide between the rich and the poor. But, somehow, it's part of India's reality.

We hope this video can inspire you to bookmark all the highlights of Mumbai 👍:
1) THE TAJ MAHAL PALACE
We highly recommend you stay at the most iconic hotel in India, The Taj Mahal Palace with a sea view. It's only a 5 min. walk to Mumbai's main attraction, the Gateway of India.
2) GATEWAY TO INDIA:
The Gateway appears to be the second most photographed attraction in India. You might catch the light and sound show on the weekends! It's a very happening place next to Mumbai harbor.
3) THE SEA LOUNGE AT THE TAJ MAHAL PALACE
Make sure to visit the Sea Lounge at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, famous for its world-class
afternoon tea, live piano music, and stunning sea views. A dress code is required, and they don't do "open footwear" for men.
4) LEOPOLD CAFE:
Leopold Cafe was among the target of the Mumbai Terror Attack 2008 along with The Taj Mahal Palace. Today, the cafe is standing strong, full of life, beers, food, and tourists! They serve the best spicy chicken I've had in India!
5) DHARAVI SLUM TOUR
Popular as Asia's largest slum, Dharavi, and the heart of Mumbai, and home to more than 1 million people. If you've seen Slumdog Millionaire, the movie was filmed here. Dharavi is not what you think. It's a very hardworking slum and known for its productivity.
6) DHOBI GHAT SLUM TOUR
The world's largest outdoor laundry, Dhobi Ghat is a very popular attraction. It's a place where people and hotels bring dirty clothes from all over Mumbai. Another working slum and surprisingly colorful!

Clearly shows the diversity of India in just one city. How you can experience the real luxury with heritage property and the Asia’s biggest slums with the same old traditions and culture. It was great pleasure in showing you around guys. Looking forward to seeing you again one day to experience more in India together. ❤🇮🇳🙏

Wow, thanks for bringing us along on your journey in Mumbai. Not what I thought about a slum! These people in the slum are working really hard for their $! What a light, fun, and informative way on such serious topics. I learned so much about India! And you and your wife did handle it well for not being allowed to record in that expensive hotel! On top of that. You were lucky to have Sid as your guide, and I like his pink penguin bag! Funny scene. I really love how you cover the contrast. Your final thoughts on the hotel and visiting the guest house were awesome! Thank you!

One film which will tell you about the Taj Mumbai attack is Telugu film Major with Adivi Shesh as Major Unni Krishnan. Then there is a suspense thriller film of Adivi Shesh and Regina Cassandra called Evaru. Also another great Telugu film is Awe that film is almost as great as Everything Everywhere All at Once. Recently I saw another Telugu thriller film called Hello Meera. I am addicted to cinema from 4 South Indian states of India.

Wow you guys ballin' at that hotel. LOL. I recently watched a series on that particular Dharavi leather brand. It was a wonderful story of a man and his adult son that run that brand from being dirt poor and now they are well off. That's cool that you bought a man purse from them. 🤣 The biriyani at the hotel buffet looked bomb! I'd be annoyed that I would not be able to film after paying all that money though. Aloha Sean and Nhi!! First of all we gotta say we are so happy they didn't confiscate any of your cameras or equipment at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. We were so scared for a moment for you two. Traveling to other countries and vlogging can be hard sometimes but hey you and Nhi made it happen despite the hiccups. It was amazing to see the differences and it really makes one sit back and process that so many people live in Dharavi with soooo much less than we're used to on a day to day basis. We could not believe the cost of getting a room in Dharavi per night!! Question was the restroom/shower community style in that guest house?? There were some parts of Dharavi that reminded us of the Philippines and the provinces there but one thing is true...the people have great spirits, work hard, and can still smile despite the difficulties!! Thank you for bringing us along with you two on this adventure!! P.S. We agree we would've taken everything from the hotel too...esp for $500/night...you technically already paid for it!! LOL

Sean. Using Bach, Mozart, and Wagner for your background music. You got the classic taste. Every time I visited India, I felt bad because of the polarized classes. I stayed at LeeLa Palace, and just like where you stayed, it was poor right outside of the hotel. It was not easy for me to enjoy the 5 star hotel while the kids outside suffered much. Loved your city erage of the slum and saw what you went through to get the hotel taped. One last thing. I no longer go to any restaurant requiring me to wear a jacket😂 That is right. No jacket required. No food will make me dress up unless it is biz related or a special event. Did you get to see any cobra?

Aloha Min C!! Always good hearing from you and I enjoy your stories of India. I hope the kids don't suffer outside because the kids in Dharavi looked like they were having fun! And lots of engineering there too! And yeah, that was a lot to go through with the hotel. Not a fan of dressing up either and long jackets for me too. I'll go right to the street food if I have too. And yes, I saw the cobras in Jaipur. So awesome🤙😋👍🇮🇳🐍

Great video, you make some awesome stuff. I don't understand the obsession with going after vloggers for filming. If you were a terrorist or a spy, you would film everything secretly and easily, it's 2023, they're morons. I feel like some dumb a** security firm is making money telling casinos, hotels and other organizations this as part of their security theater. I really wonder how much good those metal detectors and security guards would do if something like that ever happened again? Were the guys out there even armed? If they're not, it's just dumb security theater again. Especially considering this will probably NEVER happen again...there. Silly.

  • @SeanKaleponi

Namaste Dickriddles!! Best comment yet!!! Lol!! We try to make some cool vlogs and yes, there's really nothing those Security guys can do if that was to happen and no one is armed there. But I think they have way more Police right there outside at the Border so Police could respond and assist. And I don't understand the whole vlogging thing too. There's all kinds of cameras and heck, we pay to stay there but I agree with you. There might be some firm making money off of it. Thanks for watching🇮🇳🤙😋

Such contrast! Amazing adventures. Definitely brings from the heart to share the One True Living God. John 14:6 (Jesus said) "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. " A Father's Love Letter: He came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you. Romans 8:31 And to tell you that I am not counting your sins. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 Jesus died so that you and I could be reconciled. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you. 1 John 4:10 I gave up everything I loved that I might gain your love. Romans 8:31-32 If you receive the gift of my son Jesus, you receive me. 1 John 2:23 And nothing will ever separate you from my love again. Romans 8:38-39 Come home and I’ll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen. Luke 15:7 I have always been Father, and will always be Father. Ephesians 3:14-15 My question is…Will you be my child? John 1:12-13 I am waiting for you. Luke 15:11-32 Love, Your Abba
