So this lens, at f3.5, would pre pretty good for night/star photography? I have this lens, but I've never actually used it for night photography. I was thinking of getting another wide angle lens at f2.8, but if this works, I'd rather save a few hundred dollars. lol

Uranium is mostly an alpha emmiter. The 320+ doesn't detect alpha radiation. Uranium will almost definitely emit other forms of radiation that the 320+ can detect. What I'm basically saying is that it will not be easy to find Uranium in nature, it's definitely possible as I have done it myself. And of course the click is heavenly! I would recommend this counter to a fellow beginner.

This counter will do everything a beginner will need. (Alpha would be nice but you can't get everything in life.) I sometimes go to large rocky areas and whilst I've found no 'not' samples, I've found one that sometimes goes 15cpm above background.
