LS Swap Wiring - Looks harder than it is - E36 LS1 Swap Pt. 14
Trying to tidy up the engine bay on my BMW LS Swap is neither easy nor fun. Thinning this wiring out and hiding it property and safely is turning out to be quite the job. I want this engine bay to look as clean as possible without doing a full and complete custom shave. This is only the start of the wiring, I still need to wire up the whole engine!! (hint at next video)

Em I one of the rare ones who only watch your e36 vids and not your zr2 vids? Haha
I was watching at 3 AM and was laughing so loud at
I'm watching all of these! Please keep up with the series
I hope more folks start watching the E36 stuff because I'd hate to see it die from lack of interest!
Recently got an E36 and WOW has this series been SUUUUPER HELPFUL with my goal to LS SWAP IT!!!
Build looks awesome keep up the clean swap!!
Wow nice video, good montage, great car, good explanations, keep it up !
Here from the ZR2 videos. Deleted my “buddy’s” zr2 recently and used the same tip you have! Solid recommendation... also have a love hate relationship with older BMWs... recently sold my S52 swapped e30
i dig. can't wait to see* the latest incarnation of this beast!!
Dreaming of dropping a LSX in my Z4 coupe good stuff. I’m bench watching your build series keep it up 👍
Keep It up dude. I was brought here a while back because of the ZR2. Who doesn't love a balls-out LS build into one of the most iconic European cars to come out? Side note. I have some brand new Profab intercooler piping for a ZR2, I ended up going with AFE instead... Let me know if you are interested.
Very nice, clean build. You know butt connectors work until they don't work. Which incidentally is exactly like a soldered joint so I agree with you on that. Its very easy to create a cold solder joint and not know what is going on. The only thing I would have recommended is spiral wrap over the wiring instead of the shrink wrap where the splices are located. I've had to cut that stuff off too many times over splices I've screwed up and had to redo. As you know doing things three times because you've missed something is a common occurrence
Just finished watching every episode in the series and you’re really making me want to stop doing my E36 swap lmao
Make some spacers for that number 5 coil. That wire won't last 60 seconds. Looking good!
All that clearance except for a really tight intake elbow to that TB.
Got links to the heater t you use for the expansion tank? And what are you doing with the coolant port on radiator and the one on the expansion tank?
I'm doing a 2000 ls1 swap on a 97 m3 sedan. Not sure if the wiring still applies but I'm trying to find out what wires to remove and doing exactly what you're doing. What ecu did you end up using? I bought a 97' Camaro ecu with wires for cheap not sure if I can even use it but I'm at a dead end for now.
Hi, How did you resolve your Spark plug wire touching the header? Longer wires? Full set, just one?
At least on the automatic climate control, when you remove the outside temperature sensor, it's showing -40°C and the climate control is shooting hot air only. Just a heads up!
I'm thinking to just outsource the wiring my stomach hurts really badly just thinking about it
