    In his book "The Comfort Crises", Michael Easter describes a term used by the Japanese called "shinrin-yoku". It means "forest bathing". It invites us to take a break from our busy lives and connect with nature. I try to take nature hikes at least once a week. That is how I "unplug". I have been able to get my BP close to 120/80. Of course I am still taking 1/2 BP pill in the morning but still working on getting off of that. I look forward to your next video!

  • @drjoetvMD

    @drjoetvMD

    2 ай бұрын

    It takes some getting used to. You have to come to terms with the fact you'll be in temperatures of 75 degrees Celsius (167 degrees Fahrenheit). That can be uncomfortable for anyone but you have to learn to withstand it. You'll sweat. Your BP will be fantastic and your sleep later will be awesome. Of course, if it's not for you, then it's not for you but your first few sessions can be challenging. Something you can do is have a cold or semi-cold shower before going in

    It depends. Is it low because of the medication you are taking in which case you have to continue to keep it same or is it low because your lifestyle is way better and healthier than what it was in which case you should have a conversation with your doctor about dose reduction or discontinuation

    Another thought is It’s because some people have the MTHFR gene. You Can’t methylate B vitamins and other amino acids so you will be anxious and have high blood pressure. You have a protein in your body called homocysteine. when you can’t methylate that protein it becomes high in your blood, and constrict your blood vessels. You can take SAMe supplement for your anxiety. The methylated B vitamins, lower homocystine In essence curing your high blood pressure. You never had a problem with your heart or blood vessels. You just can’t methylate B vitamins. You need to supplement with L-Methionine, that will help immensely lower your anxiety level. Also Nattokinase is a game changer. You can’t take it if you are on blood thinners.
