Hi Dr Joe I have been following you and listening to you. As a newly diagnosed type 2 I started on strict keto diet and long walks per day. From 83kg I am 87.8kg aiming to drop between 70kg 73kg. I am determined to reverse this. My question is when I hit 70kg what to next so as not to drop more or increase. I learn from your teachings.

When are people going to understand DON'T TAKE ANYHTING ARTIFICIAL. Supplements are just a profit making business, they do not help anyone period, no matter what the claim on the packaging. Only things you should put in your body is natural sources of food , nature created everything for our heath, avoid man made junk.

As a doctor, I want to clarify a few points about eating sugar and the health benefits of fruits. For people who are not diabetic or pre-diabetic, eating a large amount of watermelon or plain sugar all at once, won't cause a big spike in blood sugar. Your body can handle it well. But for those who are diabetic or pre-diabetic, eating a watermelon can raise blood sugar levels significantly. Their bodies have trouble managing sugar because they either don't make enough insulin or their cells don't respond to insulin properly. So, it's important for these individuals to avoid large amounts of fruits Fruits are often advertised as very healthy, but they contain a lot of glucose and fructose. Fructose is processed only by the liver, and too much of it can lead to fatty liver disease. This condition is a major cause of type 2 diabetes, chronic liver disease, and other health problems. While fruits have vitamins, minerals, and fiber, they should be eaten in moderation. Eating too many fruits high in fructose can contribute to liver fat and other health issues. It's important to balance fruit intake with other nutritious foods and be mindful of overall sugar consumption, especially for those with or at risk for metabolic conditions. In short, fruits is advertised to be part of a healthy diet, but their sugar content should be considered. Always aim for a balanced diet and follow nutritional advice based on scientific evidence rather than marketing claims.

Generally green tea is healthy, but to prevent kidney issues due to the ECGC it's recommended to add a little citrus juice like lemon to the tea. Also, a lot of matcha (made from green tea) has heavy metal contamination. To avoid that make sure it's sourced from Japan or California.
