Rookie road is quite boring as a run, great for the views. It's a SLOG off the lift to a half mile later, until it turns right off the ridge top and eventually meets the Apollo trail. This last part of Rookie is fine if not a little choppy. It took me about 6 minutes to do this first part, and another minute gazing over the edge of the bowl.
