Lift 9 to Castle Rock to Fire Bowl - Loveland Ski Area

Спорт

Lift 9 to Castle Rock to Fire Bowl is a super fun trail. I haven't skied Castle Rock in a couple of years and have forgotten how much I love it. In this video, I start at the top of Lift 9 and traverse across the top of Primer Bowl over to Castle Rock. The snow was a bit chunky and icy which made it a little rough. It would have been much softer had I waited another hour or so to let the sun warm it up. Lift 9 sits on top of the continental divide and has beautiful 360 degree views. Lift 9 provides access to 16 runs, most of which are black diamond and double black diamond runs. It's my favorite lift at Loveland.

Is that A-basin or keystone at the backside around 1:00? I went down rookie road (as a rookie) i dont think i saw the resort on the other side. The view was absolutely amazing and the bowls incredible for a blue skier like me. I went in March and i still think about Loveland every single day as i go on my flatland life 😂

It's Keystone. On a clear day it's possible to see all the way over to Breckenridge. I love Rookie Road - awesome views and never crowded. Cheers!

I don’t think they sell half-day tickets. Also, if you purchase the lift ticket online, you’ll get a discount.

@chauvy2154 I apologize I misunderstood you. Loveland doesn’t offer a lift only ticket. Keystone ski resort does though. They have a gondola that you can get a ticket for and it will take you to the top of the mountain. There’s a place to eat up there and the views are beautiful. They offer tubing as well, and they’ve started building the snow Castle.

Okay, this was incredible! Did you combine drone and camera footage? The view seemed like you were looking down from the top of the whole planet - it’s so beautiful. 🥲 at 2:08 it looked like maybe animal tracks to your right? Would mountain goats like you sent be up that far? 💙💙💙

No drone - the resorts don't allow them. This was a GoPro on my helmet. The top of Lift 9 is at 12,700 feet so the view is absolutely breathtaking in person - more so than in this video. I don't think those were animal tracks. I'm guessing someone made it over to Castle Rock and then decided not to ski/snowboard down and just hiked it instead. They are fairly large impressions that look as if they were filled in by snow/wind blowing. Mountain goats can be that high, I've just never seen them in that area before. Glad you liked the video. Probably my last one this season for Loveland. :(

@@daveincolorado For a last video you really outdid yourself - and thank you for the detailed view of the run with labels. It helps me understand the distances so much better, Interesting to see the rock formations too. And I took a screen of the video when you were at the top, I am so glad you get to see it in person. 😊
