For beginner and intermediate ski/board, check out how steep a run is before you run it. I use a 360 cam and add GPS data for speed, slope percentage, and more. I also share technical/how to for processes and materials assembly - and share them here. I have organized everything into playlists so you see what you want and ignore the rest.

Tengo una x4 y no puedo activarla porque da mensaje de “error de activación, la cámara ha sido reportada como pérdida y está bloqueada” hay alguna forma de saltar esto y poder hacer que funcione o activarla?
wait.... wait a minute.... you/we actually have to "activate" to use this camera? Are you kidding me? Why do they (or any other company) need to know your personal info (email's, locations, purchases, etc..) JUST TO USE their product? I'm just not getting the point here, why can't anyone just pull the product out of the box, hit start/record, then download to your personal/private videos onto your computer; without their activation? Here's something to think about... read, YES, READ their "Terms of agreement/service" before aimlessly hitting the "Yes to accept" button. You WILL be surprised of the power you are ALLOWING them to spy on you. Don't fall for that "we assure you we do not use your information and respect your privacy" crap.
Thanks!
Thank you for your video. I will try the alternative device option.
👍👍👍👍
Thank you! You just solved my problem
They do be some heckin cutie snakes ^w^
I have an Upper and Lower Shamrock ☘️ on my channel. 😂 youtube.com/@zachyd2008?si=sx2yFnVucJWiA_SR
Thank you, I was looking for exactly this
Hahaha. A lot of experience with scotch. Yet he doesnt know anything about Islay. 😅😅😅😅
I just posted a bunch of Ski Coopee runs on my channel. The data is cool. 👍
how TF do u update the app ive deleted it many times and reinstalled and still nothing.... even updated the firm ware still nothing
The single most common problem seems to be some devices just don't connect well to the x-series cameras. If you have an old tablet or a friend's phone I would try that just to kick in the firmware update
When I did this last weekend, the bumps at the end were maybe 10' tall, like a literal rollercoaster. I had to snowplow and was scared AF that somebody was gonna come barreling thru and take me out. Agree, can't believe they list this as a green.
I just bought a loveland pass so I'm just binging all your vids there, thanks I appreciate the raw footage!
Worked on X4. You'd think something would prompt you. Sheesh. Thanks!
traversing across the face of splashdown is a huge pain in the ass. I always make sure to go uphill a bit at the zip intersection to stay above the cornice, its much easier to traverse up there. you seemed very tired by the time you got scrub. first time I took that route I was up there for over an hour and dismounted twice so I know the pain.
Kirkland Islay is delicious. Just bought my 2nd bottle today. .
probably gonna be the 1st black diamond I attempt this weekend!
I couldn't connect my X3 to my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra for the same issue. Then, I fired up my old iPhone 11 and installed the app. I was able to connect to my X3 and the app told me it needed a firmware update so I selected "update firmware" and then installed the firmware. After that, I was able to connect my iPhone and my Samsung.
excellent tip, use the old faithful, then connect the new
Yikes, really swimming against the current.
Ah, what can you do. It's the only cheap scotch that tastes like burned rubber. I like all the rest. And if it's a more mature islay I can enjoy it!
How do you get the specs on your camera
If you look in the description for the video, you will see the equipment that I used: it's the GPS action remote linked by Bluetooth to the camera. I tried using my phone for GPS but unless the phone stays open and unlocked with the screen on it will not give continuous data to the camera.
ok ty@@ByLagarto
love specs
I bought a new Ace Pro and cannot connect wifi. I have no access for factory reset and apps is already updated but still not working. The thing that works for me is changing the region on the apps from Auto to Lebanon.
what camera do you use?
equipment used is detailed in the in the first line of the video description
What skiing app is this?
it's not an app, Data is via the insta360 GPS, data recorded on the camera, and overlaid in software. You can not see any of it in real time either, only in post-production. I also run with a Garmin Venu 2 watch, which ALSO has GPS, so I can see speed and distance data at the end of each run.
Ahh okay I got an insta360 cam too but not sure how to use that feature? I usually use the app slopes it tracks my speed and all my runs and I use the epic app it also tracks everything but speed. Yours look so cool I’m going to winter park next week I’m so excited!
you can *try* using your phone linked to the Insta360 for GPS, but I find it does not stay on and once the phone goes to screen off mode, you lose the data feed. So for $80 get the GPS action remote and wear it like a watch on your wrist - it also gives you a camera function display, super useful if you have cam on helmet mount. The gps thing will show you battery life, hours of record time remaining on your memory card, mode of recording (very useful to keep it in 360 and not front only, or worse, photo mode), and acts as a start/stop record button. Super useful device if you record a lot of runs.
I didn’t even know about the action remote thx for that advice! So if I use that remote and link it to my insta360, I could get the same display your video has? I’ve been skiing for over 20 years and never seen that, would be so cool to add it to my videos.
I know this trail is marked green, but for a beginner like me, all those trees and cliffs on the sides make me nervous.
Agreed 100%. Loveland's terrain is greener on basin than in valley. Weird right? If you have access, go check out ptarmigan lift and go right to fire cut and then down to that same lift. That's the best green terrain they have. Everything else is more difficult for a first 5 day ski/snowboard. I have visited 14 mountains and would say the best beginner terrain can be found at Breckenridge or Beaver Creek. Oceans of easy greens, all wide, below -20% slope. If you're on a budget and don't mind driving, Cooper is excellent as well. Winter Park is hit or miss, especially for snowboard, the runs off of the high lonesome lift are pretty good, but there's a big flat spot.
@@ByLagarto thank you for taking the time to respond. I'll look into those. 😎
+1 on the ptarmigan recommendation. The wide open bowls and deep powder are very confidence inspiring for beginners @@JhonPereda
I just got off this trail after taking novice lessons today and feeling confident. Somehow I didn’t get hurt or crash into anyone else. It was so steep and there were so many trees and cliff edges. I’m surprised this was listed as green.
Agreed, I did this on day 1 and was terrified... 3 sections in particular. The very first catwalk turn is sharp and a little steep if you take the inside to avoid the edge drop off. Second is the narrow twice as steep section as you will have encountered after the second turn, then third shortly after that third turn, the slope is sideways and down, not just down... so you have to learn to traverse - not fun on day 1 or day 3. And yeah, it's kinda narrow in spots, catwalk in spots. You will find this construction on a LOT of mountains, catwalk runs to manufacture a green where it would otherwise be REALLY steep. My day 2 on snowboard took me 40 minutes to finish zig-zag, it was almost entirely side slip. I did not trust those catwalk drop offs one bit. On skis though? well you see my time, 10x faster than that dreadful snowboard run.
Thanks sir
lawd i was so turnt in this hahaha
that thing was both awesome and scary
Is this resort recommended for complete beginners?
Arapahoe Basin DOES have a training area, though it's small compared with many other mountains. They do offer lessons for day 1 beginners, yes. Personally, I recommend Loveland Valley for a day 1 beginner, that's where I learned my first lessons in January 2023. Loveland's training area, plus a green run called zig-zag (see that here kzread.info/dash/bejne/qoegt7xveLG5dsY.html ) is a lot larger. For your first season, Loveland has a lot more beginner terrain (green runs) that you can explore after your first 3 lessons are complete and you have a little confidence to try longer runs.
I am up to date with the latest download for the app and x3 itself, and yet my brand new x3 will not connect to the app on my phone either. Their customer service is the worst, I can barely get a response from anyone. Has anyone found any solution for this issue? I am frustrated as I spend hundreds of dollars on this dive kit.
If the firmware is up to date on the camera, and your phone software is also up to date, and it will still not connect, you may want to consider returning the camera as defective. I have bought 3 more X3 since I made this video, and none of them had this out-of-box failure to connect. It's quite possible you have a new unit with a bad radio. But before you do that, if you have any friends phones you can use, find out if it is YOUR PHONE and its failure to connect that is the issue. If a friend's phone can connect to it, you know it's your phone and not the camera that has the problem. Worth a try especially if the return will cost you shipping or other fees.
@@ByLagarto thank you, I will try this.
Thanks for listing the run in the title.
Costco cognac is awesome. My everyday drink if it doesn’t damage my liver . Lol
Stand up!
next time, most definitely
Fun little run! Getting off the lift can be a bit tricky as the landing is pretty steep and usually has a bunch of people standing around
…do not even use the correct glass…so that opinion about single malt is nonsense…
What camera / app are you using ?
Recorded on an Insta360 X3 + GPS Action Remote, edited in the insta360 software, which is free with the camera serial number to verify a purchase from the company.
Glad you're OK. Enjoy the vids.

Exactly what I was looking for thanks for taking the time to upload
Did you rent skibike ? If so, where? Thanks
I own the beast. $70-150/day from rental shops (do a search for ski bike and your mountain resort name and RENTAL). I figured I would buy one, and if I didn't like it, would sell it. Almost did sell it after my day 1 was a disappointment, then found others who could show me what I was missing. It IS fun to blast down a hill at 35+mph, so smooth. Just gotta learn the slowing down part!

Heck yea man! You got some good footage! You are definitely going to gain a following over the winter.
It was a pleasure talking to you, and thank you for the suggestions and tips! Look forward to riding with you someday...
Everything you said about the whisky are all desirable qualities for Islay fiends!
Definitely... I learned this along the way. This was a good education for me! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video! What app are you using to record speed, distance etc. Thanks in advance.
The GPS action remote is electronically linked with the insta360 X2 or X3 camera. When using the insta360 editing software, you can choose the overlay elements and position. But all the data is provided by GPS. To customize it as I have done, I use the PC editing software provided by the camera maker.
respect to y'all for trying these out
Fabulous fun!
It's all swill, if you had blind tastings, you wouldnt know what is what. It's liquor, pretending it's one way or the other is purely subjective.
