"Runaround" was featured in an episode of the 1990s TV show Roseanne titled "Of Mice and Dan"(1995) Blues Traveler guest starred as Dan Conner's old friends. John Goodman gets a chance to sing while Popper plays the harmonica in the episode. It's worth a watch. Both the song, and that episode, is pure 1990s era nostalgia to me now. So glad to see you both enjoy it. It is absolutely a fun, summertime energy and song.

the music industry wasn't super excited about someone Popper's size being out front of the band, so in this video they placed him as the "man behind the curtain".

Yeah, as others have said. This song was EVERYWHERE in the mid-90's. Great song, too, BTW.

John Popper looks the least like a rock star that anyone could imagine but he sings and plays circles around the pretty boys.

But Anyway was their first big hit on our college radios in 1990 off their first self titled album, such a cool song. In 1993 i was lucky enough to get hired to do security when they came for a one time show up my way and got a free show not long after John Popper had been in a very serious motorcycle accident and had to do the show in a wheelchair but the band still killed it

As one who has been around long enough to remember when nearly ALL the songs you react to came out for the first time, what I like most is when Jordan or Amber are so moved they can't help but chair dance because your spirit is moved. That's how I felt...and still do.

The best harmonica player to ever play. And in an era where lead guitarists were the standard, he does this... with an instrument many would have considered antiquated.

This video is the perfect response to the mtv ization of music at this time. The lesson from the wizard of oz that the truth is behind the curtain while what you're seeing on stage is fake. The "perfect" video band with the long haired bopping lead singer is what mtv basically demanded from their video bands. What bands needed to succeed on the channel was a look and a hook and if you have that and nothing else, well maybe they can still make this work. Great great song

One of my favorites by them is a deep cut called "Regarding Steven" a true story about him and his best friend who got caught up in drugs and John got out but left his friend behind and it's him wondering about what happened to his friend. (turns out to be a good ending to the story) Super sad story about Steven who as a child lost his family to a car accident and lived with trauma and depression that led to the addiction. I cry every time I hear it.

Love that song. You can really hear how beautiful and powerful his voice is on it. He gets so much attention for his harmonica playing but it’s his voice that I really love.

Speaking of 'The Wizard of Oz I can't believe you have not reacted to the great Judy Garland, who played Dorothy. She had a spectacular career and a just a terrific singer.
