YOU CAN SKIP CUTSCENES WITH THE OPTION BUTTON!!! (I think it's that button atleast, I know there's a way xD) my god I hate that I forgot to tell you cause sometimes the cutscene can just be a pain to watch over and over when you just want to beat something xD You're doing great still though even if I have a feeling it's just frustrating to hear ^^'' Also I think there's a second summon to get though I am unsure if you can have both, for the second one to appear you need the Impurity rune equipped and you need to be with the league which I think you are and he will be behind the rock behind the crows just outside the entrance to the boss fight! (he also uses the Whirligig Saw) You should try and see if you can have both and if you go the route of trying the Whirligig Saw again I would recommend only that and again only in the transformed state, pretty much fire paper, beast blood pellet (like you've done) and then never do a full combo, just do like two hits, make sure to stay close and remember to heal, sometimes his attacks go right over you I think if you're in the right position near him... Wish I was better at explaining but I hope it helps a little, you got this! :3

Overall I think you're doing really well! Honestly from the looks of it, the biggest problem is how you kinda "lock in" a lot for hitting where you don't realise how low on HP you really are at points. Overall personal suggestion from someone who only really played DS 1-3 and Sekiro, you should avoid situations where you just have no Stamina after your own attacks which seemed to happen a lot here, making you unable to dodge. Maybe some level ups into Endurance would be more helpful here rather than pure damage. Especially when you seemingly reached the "soft cap" on Strength (25) and Skill (also 25) where each upgrade after that point has deminishing returns where the stat gains are not as good as they were before the cap. Anyway, I know you can do this! You've been super close so many times

The Raven Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. “ “'Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door- Only this, and nothing more.” Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow;-vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow-sorrow for the lost Lenore- For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore- Nameless here for evermore. And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me-filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating, “ “'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door- Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;- This it is, and nothing more.” Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, “Sir,” said I, “or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you”-here I opened wide the door;- Darkness there, and nothing more. Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before; But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, “Lenore!” This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, “Lenore!”- Merely this, and nothing more. Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning, Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before. “Surely,” said I, “surely that is something at my window lattice, Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore- Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore;- 'Tis the wind and nothing more.” Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter, In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore. Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he; But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door- Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door- Perched, and sat, and nothing more. Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling, By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore. “Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,” I said, “art sure no craven, Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the Nightly shore- Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!” Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.” Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly, Though its answer little meaning-little relevancy bore; For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being Ever yet was blest with seeing bird above his chamber door- Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door, With such name as “Nevermore.” But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Nothing further then he uttered-not a feather then he fluttered- Till I scarcely more than muttered, “other friends have flown before- On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before.” Then the bird said, “Nevermore.” Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken, “Doubtless,” said I, “what it utters is its only stock and store, Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore- Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore, Of ‘Never-nevermore’.” But the Raven still beguiling my sad fancy into smiling, Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird and bust and door; Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore- What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore Meant in croaking “Nevermore.” This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core; This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining On the cushion's velvet lining that the lamplight gloated o'er, But whose velvet violet lining with the lamplight gloating o'er, She shall press, ah, nevermore! Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer Swung by Seraphim whose footfalls tinkled on the tufted floor. “Wretch,” I cried, “thy God hath lent thee-by these angels he hath sent thee Respite-respite and nepenthe, from thy memories of Lenore; Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!” Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.” “Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!-prophet still, if bird or devil!- Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore, Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted- On this home by horror haunted-tell me truly, I implore- Is there-is there balm in Gilead?-tell me-tell me, I implore!” Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.” “Prophet!” said I, “thing of evil!-prophet still, if bird or devil! By that Heaven that bends above us-by that God we both adore- Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore- Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore.” Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.” “Be that word our sign in parting, bird or fiend!” I shrieked, upstarting- “Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken!-quit the bust above my door! Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!” Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.” And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming, And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor; And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor Shall be lifted-nevermore!

You're very close! 1st phase is in the bag, basically. Keep doing what you do. 2nd phase, always stay in the back. Don't attack until you're out of his line of sight. Slash a few times, reposition, let stamina recharge, and do it again. Some random tips for the fight/life: - If you don't have fire paper, bolt works almost as well. It's a buff after all. - There's a rune that gives you a 20% increase in damage for viscerals. And as you saw, the 2nd phase always has a chance for one. With your Skill level, you can do some heavy damage. - If you're short on insight, remember those yummy umbilical cords. They give 3 insight each, and you can cosume at any time. Makes no difference as long as you do it before crossing the gates. - Good call on selling what you don't need. I always sell everything. Arcane tools, chalice dungeon items, most weapons (since I always end up using 3, or 4 tops), and fashion I don't like. - You can break the limbs of big beasts. They take extra damage there, and if you break enough, you can do a visceral. It's hard to see among the chaos, and it's better to unlock to do it. But like I said, you're already doing fine in the 1st phase, so you don't have to do this. This is one of the toughest fights in the game (making it one of the toughest in any game in general), so it's normal to get stuck. This dude was my wall for years in NG+. He's a sturdy mofo, but he's not invincible. Remember to follow those haunches, and good hunt!

You're nearly there. You're starting to see the patterns, we can tell. Every run goes a bit faster or without losing as much health. If you're wondering if there's something to level up, I'd say endurance to 40. That's what you want in this fight. Sure, health and damage is nice too, but having that extra bit of stamina works wonders. Next time you'll get em. Happy huntin'!

.001 second into the video and I know Ludwig is doing his job well as gate keeper of the dlc. Ludwig the Accursed/ Holy Blade, never change. More hunters will come your way for you to break. Also the +199 isn’t the max damage of the saw cleaver, it’s the additional damage. Like the whirligig was 167 +205.

You are so close you’re 90% there on Ludwig it’s just timing you got to work on. Yeah the Fromsoft rage is real, but most people quit before, or at Ludwig so when you beat him, look at the PlayStation trophy only 14.3% of players for this game have ever beaten Ludwig! You got this!

This boss absolutely destroyed me my first time through. To this day, i dont think ive had a harder time with a boss when encountering it for the first time than Ludwig. Nowadays, i find him pretty easy, but only because how much he trained me and forced me to improve. You will get it, and you will feel that rush of success and vindication. Then, if its like my experience, nothing will ever feel as insurmountable again.

Don't get me wrong, we love these games, but 1st playthroughs are pure suffering. The "good stuff" comes in the subsequent ones. When you know where everything is and you can plan your path and build. Some people have a glass of wine in a bubble bath, to relax. I just get the claymore on a new character and go to town.
