    Solid review man! I'm on the waitlist to get the Black/Gilt version in August! I considered the Black/Silver version, but felt it was a bit too plain for my taste. Hopefully the watch will hold me over until I can buy a few luxury watches after I pay off the Subaru I bought for my wife. Best regards man, stay safe, great job again on the review!

    @@steveroberts619 I got my Neptune this past Wednesday! It is a great piece! If you want a watch that you can wear everyday and in any situation this is a good bet! The gilt styling is subdued (in the best way possible), it's simple and humble in it's appearance to the onlooker, but it shows its detail to the person wearing it! Before I bought the Neptune, I was stuck between the Falcon and it...I'm glad I went with the Neptune due to the water resistance, the size (perfect without seeming dainty); it gives you a bit of that old-world charm.

    That's about as good looking a watch for $500 as I have seen. I love everything about it, I don't think the bracelet taper would bother me, and I think it's really sezy looking. I'd keep it on the watch were I to own it. That elegant curve of the case makes a huge difference. So great review. It got me thinking though: Would I pay $900 for this watch if it had a Swiss movement like the SW 200-1 and a gorgeously domed sapphire crystal ? Yeah I think I would.

  • @theknightswatch

    Michael Fierman completely agree, I would pay more for a sapphire as well, Swiss movement i could take it or leave it but if it made it thinner I would be game.

    May be true! I’d also recommend measuring how long the span of the top of your wrist is as that is where the watch usually lays. Compare that to the lug to lug and you’ll get an idea of how small or big it’ll really wear since everyone’s wrist is different.

  • @MichaelV89

    How about the noise of the movement makes? Is it loud as other reviewer says?

    Signed up for the gilt version. Previous ones were too big for my taste. Wish they would offer an alternative choice with sapphire crystal and Swiss movement. Maybe sooner or later Lauren and Lorenzo will consider that.

    Alexander Lehmann maybe at some point they will but definitely would be more if a cost to them and if it was say an extra 200 even 400 dollars would enough people opt to pay that higher price for it to make sense to them.

    Acrylic is actually much more shatter resistant than sapphire. When sapphire shatters, the result is thousands of broken glass-like pieces all over your hand and arm.

  • @theknightswatch

    @theknightswatch

    Knife Watch yep definitely one benefit of sapphire but then again you don’t here to many stories of people shattering their sapphire glass, but many of acrylic scratching.

  • @watches.

    @watches.

    4 жыл бұрын

    The Knight’s Watch Sapphire shattering is more common than we would like to admit. Apple Watch screens are made with a high quality sapphire. Cracked iPhone screens are basically a cliche. The quality of different sapphires is debatable too, as you have no idea how much different makers have spent on them. I have seen a friend of mine walking around with a cracked Patek Philippe. acrylic scratching is solved with 2 minutes and a dot of polywatch. Shattered glass is irreparable and dangerous.

    Knife Watch very true. It’s just one of those situations where there are benefits and drawbacks to each. If you drop an acrylic it can still deform and while not taking away from the functionality it definitely takes away from the overall aesthetic.

  • @nycLPplayer

    I know it wouldnt make money sense but could an ETA movement be swapped in? I love my Steinhart but the aesthetics are a little too on the nose but I get sub 3+s a day accuracy.

  • @theknightswatch

    I don’t believe they have the same dimensions. In the end watches are really more of an aesthetic choice. Your phone will always tell better time so if your watch is off 10 seconds a day it’s not the end of the world. Just my take.

    @@theknightswatch That's a refreshing angle to come at it from. By the way, have you considered reaching out to Lorier about the misalignment? To me, that's a pretty big deal along with your indices-lume observation.

    This watch would have been absolutely perfect if it had sapphire. I realize the acrylic has a better aesthetic but I'd rather have something that will hold up better to daily wear.

  • @briandalponte5898

    Russell depends on what you mean by hold up. If I understand it correctly, hardlex might scratch easier but sapphire shatters easier. And you can always buff scratches out

  • @theknightswatch

    @theknightswatch

    Ya agree there Brian. However definitely easier to scratch acrylic than shatter sapphire. Overall I think people discount acrylic too much and light as well just try it. Worse comes to worse just sell it.

    Taper is 3 link not 2. Exactly the same as a current rolex submariner or older vintage omega bracelets which is where it's inspired from. The reason it "looks" more aggressive is because it's not an oyster style. It's perfect, it's by design.

    One man’s trash is another’s treasure. All things are relative. If you only like Rolex and the like that’s fine. No reason to watch a video on Lorier then. Very clearly you are not the brands intended audience.
