The US needs to learn to take 3 week Holidays. I seldom take more than 1 week at a time. I did two weeks when I went to Europe a few years back though. Have a nice Holiday and for goodness sake wear the watch body boarding!

The shape at the end of the tie-string is just *begging* for your cobra logo to be stamped on it. The Lorier is a *perfect* holiday watch, I'm a big fan of the brand (I have the Hyperion & the Gemini), solid watches - and and they've just announced 1 new LE dress watch and an Explorer-esque redesign of the Falcon this week...maybe we'll learn more on Monday? 😊 And lastly: that Tudor two tone Date-Day is *Bad Ass!* man and *really* suits you and your sartorial choices. That was a great buy!

Me too!..sort of. 😊 I bought a pre-owned Hyperion about a month after I bought a new Gemini. They're *really* good, hey? The Hyperion has flaws: the bezel action is *awful*, so is the lume. But otherwise? - so, so good. Both of them wear very slim on wrist, particularly the Hyperion, and they're both extremely comfortable and so good looking. The Hyperion is one of my two "dailies" and the Gemini serves as one of my dressier sports watches. The other daily and dressier sports pieces were more expensive and from "better" brands ( 🙄 ) They're probably regarded as being more "desirable" too!, but the Loriers *more* than hold their own and are *definitely* more *comfortable* on wrist. I really like how they created their brand by taking the best design elements of Omegas 1957 "trilogy" releases and melding it with style and ethos of vintage Rolex. They didn't try to re-invent the wheel and they're honest about the watches that inspired them. And they succeeded in creating something that is its own thing, but it still *feels* familiar. I *really* rate them as a brand.

@@anthonysmith2982 The Neptune is close to a GADA watch for me. Small enough to wear with business attire either on the bracelet, or on a leather strap. Sporty and durable enough to wear on weekends, or out doing just about anything. The only occasion I wouldn't wear it with is black tie, and I haven't been to a black tie affair in several years. For for sure, it would be a great vacation watch.

Rental cars went through the roof during covid because the companies sold most of their fleet, so as they restock, they get to keep the prices up. I know because I'm doing the same thing coming up. Ugh, but whatcha going to do. Thanks for the EDC rundown Tim! Enjoy the vaca!!

Good call on the Lorier Neptune. I wore mine on vacation on Cape Cod, Massachusetts a couple of years back just after I got it and dunked it in the ocean while canoeing. Totally waterproof, but I did have to dig out the seaweed from the bracelet!

Have a great holiday Tim & family. Portugal seems to be the fashionable location at the moment. Love the Lorier, I have one myself but the classic black and white version, which is no longer available sadly. Must keep an eye out for one of those DJI cameras. Very useful item!

A couple of months ago I bought "Polaroid" eyeglasses with clip on sunglasses. Now I have my prescription and can add the sunglasses part, essentially 2 in 1. There are little magnets on both parts, so adding sunglasses and taking them off is very smooth. Easily the best eyeglasses I have ever had, and I've had my share of them. :)

I just bought a pair of Randolph Engineering frames and had photogenic prescription lenses put in; the ones that are clear in low light and darken as it gets brighter. So similar to you: one pair of frames does it all. The best thing? Headaches from straining my eyes when wearing sunglasses (often in Australian sun...) *stopped* immediately. Don't know why I didn't do it years ago! I get why you're happy you did it. It's *so* much easier!

I have the same tan/khaki NATO and it's brilliant. But similar to yours, no sign of manufacturer. I've never seen a similar one online yet, which is a pity as I would buy a couple of other colours...

Can’t go wrong with Wayfarers! That said, CBTim seems to prefer things that are a little further afield. Moscot 'Lemtosh' sunglasses have that more rounded look of the 40's without sacrificing the great geometry of the Ray-Bans. That'd be my choice for Tim! ✌🏼️

@@panosvrionis8548 Me too!.. except for Persol. I *love* them but I can't own them all!! 😊 I just bought my first pairs of Randolph Engineering btw!(same style as AO as I'm sure you know...). I got the matte steel finish and had grey prescription photochromic lenses fitted, so they darken in brighter light. Got prescription lenses in the second pair too, except they're matte gold with 'Tea' (or brown!) tinted lenses. I *really* like them and never I'd swap away from AO but my brother got them for a great price through a colleague when he travelled to the states. Never had prescription sunglasses before, certainly never had photochromic lenses either. Having one pair of specs that can do it all is *fantastic!*. You're the 3rd guy I've come across in forums that's into glasses as well. I think it's another example of guys having a very limited choice of accessories. Those Moscot glasses are cool too, hey? I'd happily give them a try too, but as I said: can't own 'em all! Cheers man. ✌🏼️

where is the landeron compressor style gone ? did you get rid of it ? you took it on holidays if I recall. impressions about this watch ?

He got rid of it a while ago I think. I purchased a kit from them which has a sterile dial and don’t come with a movement. I got it together and it’s a great watch for the price. Love the acrylic crystal and has nice wrist presence and pulls off the feel of the super compressors from back in the day.

Would mind sharing the reference # of the Seiko 5?
