I thought Flowen was wounded and corrupted by the attack on the Dark Falz, and that's the entire plot of PSOe2? He was rushed to the underwater research lab, where they studied the effects of the "Parasitic Gene Flow" on his body, tried to merge him with the AI Olga, and when the D-Cells, or "Dark Cells" began to manifest beyond the point of recovery, they dug out a gigantic shaft to practically the core of the planet, and sealed him at the bottom. As he festered down in the cold dark earth, his mutations culminated in him becoming the horrid "Olga Flow"(en) or the final boss of PSOe2. I mean, if you wear one of Red Ring Rico's weapons, and beat Olga Flow with it, what is normally Flowen's fallen sword now has the phantasm of Flowen around it. That's pretty cut and dried. Not to mention when Olga Flow casts Grantas on you, you actually BECOME the spirit of Heathcliff. Bad job, LORE. That's a pretty HUGE part of the story you just ignored.

Dude he only did the prologue of the story....Well some of it.

This lore is sorta correct, except for 1 thing. Heathcliff Flow didnt find Dark falz and got possed, he got attacked by a dark fal creature and slowy grew posses, and the government people were like, hey can we do science on you? and he was like sure. But then he mutated into Olga Flow, that big fucked sword monster you fight at the bottom of the ocean.

Yeah I never knew about this story. Especially back in the day, there wasnt too many game faqs or game wikis back then. Even now the wiki is still a bit vague. This game's story seems interesting, not because its super deep, but because the game doesnt explain anything and few people know about it., It has always puzzled me.

Of all the obscure games I NEVER thought would get a lore video, I'm happy to see this get one o3o!! If you're doing obscure games, I wonder if you'd do a lore for Skies of Arcadia Legends (or at least Golden Sun)

This is honestly my favourite game from the game cube. I know that people will argue about others being better but the only ones competing are either custom robo or also on xbox. It had some great character customization and 3rd person combat for the time, aand I've had a lot of great memories playing this game with friends. I wish this game would get a sequel that didn't cost a small fortune to play online multiplayer.

I come from 9 years in the future... Phantasy Star Online has a sequel called Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, and it's free to play.

This game franchise is one of my favorites. I played it as a child on the dreamcast. Having played it as a child I didn't understand the storyline much. Now I do, thanks LORE :D!

For those wondering what Jeremy is doing here when he should be working on the main plot... he is still working on it. What you see here now is just Jeremy doing a side quest.

I just comprehended the amount of work it takes to make these.

ahhh so many childhood memories on my dreamcast, then gamecube, then blue burst on pc. Tempting to start playing the JP version, but at the same time, I'm too scared to fuck up the install or something to even try.

I really hope that SEGA someday makes a remake to the original PS games (1,2,3, End of Millenium) because they were really good! I want to return to Algo!

This game used to be my jam back in 2001.

Kind of surprised they did a PSO Lore video before the actual Phantasy Star series. Subsequently, who wants a Phantasy Star V?

Bier Bart They used to do copyright strikes on videos in the past that did not have a disclaimer in Japanese and without a copyright SEGA logo in the video. That's how far Sega has taken it. Even shut down some channels due to closed beta gameplay being shown.

Man I miss playing this online! Phantasy Star Online 2 or Phantasy Star Nova need to have an international release!

The greatest thing I learned is that they put the transcript into the description.

Also, it wasn't Flowen who woke up Dark Falz, it was Red Ring Rico.

while I haven't played Phantasy Star Online, I did play Phantasy Star 0 on the DS. Its a cool universe.

(Silently wonders how many people think I'm MattVisual.) But no seriously, my biggest problem with this guy is that noticeable gap between "Red Ring" and "Rico Tyrell". You can tell this was done in one take without any proper editing. I'm surprised there was enough demand for this honestly. Phantasy Star doesn't exactly have the largest fanbase....

Well, at least the game is getting some more attention. HEAR THAT SEGA?!

Anymore minute story for the other PSO sequels? PSU? PSU2? PSO2?

There's no music in this one. It makes me feel scared... And lonely.

I love the phantasy star series, i used to play phantasy star universe on the xbox, but the PSO2 looks outstanding! the (second online) dynamic high speed combat gameplay with a little bit of monster hunter in there and attack/combo/dash/skill (photon arts)/weapon changes chaining all together for those more exuberant players decent character customization and class changes at station with a variety of weapons (changable mid battle) and photon art skills at your disposal

Coral was screwed over due to Mother Trinity and Dark Falz before the events in Phantasy Star Zero. After Dark Falz’s defeat in Phantasy Star Zero, he was sent to Ragol in a spaceship which starts up the events of Phantasy Star Online. Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution is the finale that wraps the story up while Phantasy Star Online 2 is a reboot.

Loved this game on gamecube.

I'd love to see a Panzer Dragoon lore. Said series was my childhood incarnate.

as a major fan of pso and a longtime player and story love dark falz does and never has had tentacles! also flowen was injured years after rico and admitted himself to research as a D cell (dark cell) creature or dark falz minion had injured him infecting him with the cell flowen was transformed into a mutant machine dark falz and the thing that rico sees in the video with the human body sticking out IS HER mutated by dark falz this can be seen by the "red" ring on the monsters small hand it is also proven because in his final hidden form her spirit is "released" from falz. I didn't expect perfection but you got some things backwords

This reminds me that I should play Phantasy Star 4 again.

They didn't add the music because Sega are very protective when it comes to their games. ..And yes..the servers are gone but unofficial severs are there and can be played via dreamcast or gamecube with some editing involved if that floats your boat

I fucking loved this game, my HuMar was a beast

Makes me sad that Phantasy Star went down this road. The original quartet on the Master System/Genesis/Mega Drive was amazing! This off-shoot of the series was definitely not my cup of tea at all.
