The only time Diddy's ever been referred to as DK's nephew officially is in the DK64 instruction manual. In every other instance, he's been referred to as his "little buddy".

Crobatman I am the night and going by logic of time, that means modern donkey kong is diddy and cranky is new old dk.

mario was not a plumber in dk 1, as shown in dk 2 he was a circus owner, and original dk was not being treated well

Yeah, it never made sense to me why people keep thinking that DK Jr is Cranky’s son or Grandson when he could be Cranky’s GREAT Grandson, given the release of DK94 for the Gameboy came before DKC.

You know what surprises me? I was born in 1995 but yet I actually played Donkey Kong Country on an actual Super Nintendo and have actual memories of playing the game despite never actually owning a SNES.

TheOneTrueKit He's owned by Nintendo and has been seen more than once in other games, like King of Swing and Mario Super Sluggers; however, Retro wanted to make it feel like the old games, but bringing new things to the table, if I remember correctly.

You know, storing your wealth in the form of a perishable fruit (especially one that ripens and rots more quickly when exposed to the gases of other ripening bananas) is a terrible long-term idea.

we should probably mention that the only reason diddy kong lost was because they sent a krusha after him... he literally can't beat those by himself.

In case anyone was wondering why they call Diddy DK's cousin and then nephew it's a joke about how the original DKC lore has been retconned by Nintendo after Rare left.

Long story short: Donkey Kong took all the bananas on the island and King K. Rool stole them to feed the hungry on Donkey Kong Island. I think I preferred the old DK's rule over this new one...

This LORE is clearly off by a long-shot. First, the Kongs were captured along with their supply of bananas by the evil Dr. Doom. He then enslaved the Kongs and blew up Manhattan with his newly discovored mutant powers. After destroying Manhattan with the Kongs, he freed the Kongs and they went back to their island, Scabb Island. A new chapter begins in the Donkey Kong Country lore as Dr. Doom is trained by Professor X in the top secret military base, Area 51. Because Area 51 is the home planet of the Sith overlords, the weak minded Professor X and Dr. Doom were easily persuaded to set the Sith free of their Kryptonite bonds to wreak havoc on the world of Olympus.
