This is the best theory of the timeline that i have seen so far. Im also bias though, it felt to me that pso was way far into the future after the events of the first series. Thanks for the much needed context

Nice video. I really thought pso was just after ps2. I really like the idea that the same humans that created the AI in pso2 the same ones that killed the heroes, are the ones who took all the efforts to create a new feature trying to learn from the mistakes they made in their experiments. That would make some sense of why suddenly apprared in pso a brand new sociopolitical environment where newmans and human’s coexists. They used the knowledge. But I didn’t check pso zero so I may be wrong. Your hypothesis may make some sense… but we need more, please don’t forget about us.

I enjoy watching this. I want to know some back story to the original Phantasy Star because I play Phantasy Star Online. Thats where I started playing the series from. I never played the Genesis games

Same! He laid it out in a very straightforward and easy to understand way, which I REALLY appreciate in this era of KZread (where viewer watch time is the most important factor, for some reason).

Thanks for these insights. Never went into the PSO material myself, so nice to know all that. And the rest was top notch info as well. Just improve on your audio/the accustics in your room a bit, there seem to be some constant demonic interference in the background (audio filter gone mad?); also maybe get a better mic, or check your audio mixing. There is pso2 in America and globally,for the past 4 years bro. You can get it on steam and on consoles.

Phantasy star portable 2 infinity has been translated into english and you can find isos of it online. Dont be ashamed. It's Sega's fault they didnt bring it to the west. I run it off of the psp emulator and it looks and runs great.

Sega have officially said that the Online sub-series was a separate timeline from the Classic (like how Universe is its own thing like Online 2) but I want to believe that they were always meant to be connected since there are many references in the art book and items. They just did that to not make the newcomers lost about the lore since it was a sort of reboot after a 7-8 years hiatus for the franchise... Yet PSU was also meant to serve both as a new reboot and a sequel to both Online and the Classic sagas with the 3 planets system and a similar combat system. Sega's biggest crime was to name PSO2 as such despite having 0 connections to the original Online games (besides some enemies and items).

Good thing too because the current PSO as it is now is disgusting AF At least NGS is better than base PSO2 4-6 in that regard. But the community is a different story.
