  I hope to get my broadband adapter for my Black Gamecube... I hope to eye on the delivery tomorrow. Once I got it on the mail I will hook things up, a spare ethernet cable, an adapter to the GameCube, gain access to the net and play it on SCHTHack Server! I love PSO especially BlueBurst. my first entry to the PSO was on Gamecube with a DVD of Games with Trailer and I see PSO Ep. 1 & 2 looking so cool! 4 Player Split Screen and can play Online... Poorly for a long time I never experienced it. But rumors I am hearing about from others was hacking things and corrupted Memory Cards Datas and other PTSD... I'm looking forward on playing Online in Gamecube! 😄

  I actually liked most of these episodes. This feels like basically a list made by someone who is incapable of liking any new episodes to something, no offense. The only ones I feel "could of been better" is Carmageddon, and the Shrek episode probably could of done more with the Wickerman parody. Feels like they were missing something. And the genie is supposed to look bad, because they were mocking the new Aladdin movie at the time.

  I generally agree with this list, but the Nerd wishing for all of the Aladdin Deck Enhancers to blow up absolutely does seem like something James would’ve thought of. Many classic episodes have ended with the Nerd either destroying the bad games he’s just reviewed, or doing something nasty to them, like shitting, pissing, or puking on them. The constantly dancing genie, which strikes me as being some kind of cheap, stock animation, is what grates on me about that episode, and doesn’t seem like something James would’ve done for one of his classic episodes. In the good old days of AVGN, the genie would’ve been played by a real person in costume, or the artwork would’ve been done by Mike, or perhaps a fan, or artistic KZreadr James collaborated with. I assume the cheap, stock animation was meant to reference the animated genie from the Disney films, but it just seems disrespectful both to the AVGN series and to the memory of Robin Williams.

  I don’t agree with your opinions but to be fair you don’t specify why you don’t like it beyond “this is cringe” or “James wouldn’t do this years ago”. The former is completely subjective, and the latter is speculation. Idk peace to your either way.

  He’s no where near as good as he was but I can still watch most of the ones u mentioned and get enjoyment out of them and every one he posts. I won’t pretend they’re good if they’re not but even if they’re not great I can still enjoy them and get a laugh. I think that’s says something

  I'd love a remake/remaster of this. I am in complete agreement with you on the expanded customizer wish. More color palettes and more headpieces. I remember being bummed that I couldn't remake my PSO1 Ranger. The CASTs got way more options than any other race.

  Nice video. I really thought pso was just after ps2. I really like the idea that the same humans that created the AI in pso2 the same ones that killed the heroes, are the ones who took all the efforts to create a new feature trying to learn from the mistakes they made in their experiments. That would make some sense of why suddenly apprared in pso a brand new sociopolitical environment where newmans and human’s coexists. They used the knowledge. But I didn’t check pso zero so I may be wrong. Your hypothesis may make some sense… but we need more, please don’t forget about us.

  I haven’t watched the Nerd since the Planet of the Apes video. I used to love his videos, especially the LJN ones, all the Jekyll and Hyde bits, Dark Castle, and I can go on. But I watched that one, and was so bored by the entire thing. I haven’t watched him since.

  My take on the Vegas Stakes episode: pretty good video, but a bad AVGN episode. I hated it when it came out, but I actually kind of like it now for what it is. Shrek is definitely the worst episode to me, along with Jurrassic Park Trespasser.

  I've noticed a laziness when it comes to the episodes compared to before. So I actually enjoyed playing bugs Bunny crazy Castle back in the '90s. I played the first three games all on Game Boy. Will the third one I play on Game Boy color and Super Game Boy but whatever. I wasn't aware that there was a fourth bugs Bunny crazy castle game that came out for the Game Boy color except when I looked up bugs Bunny crazy Castle on IGN like sometime in the late 2000s or something. It was thanks to the bugs Bunny crazy castle episode of AVGN that I learned that there was a crazy castle five starring Woody woodpecker. This is proof that James and company did their research. They would find the more obscure entries of a series that you would not expect. Now I'll explain solid proof that just last year in 2023 they got lazy. Reviewing the earthworm Jim games is actually a terrific idea. They are fun great games but can lead to just some crazy reactions because of just the absurdity of what goes on in those games. I knew that James would talk about the submarine in the first earthworm gym. That makes perfect sense. My problem with the episode is that he insists that it's a trilogy. You can easily look up earthworm Jim and find another game. There's no excuse for this. I group in the '90s and I played earthworm Jim one and two. However the one that I actually ended up spending the most time playing because of other two I barely played was menace to the galaxy on the Game Boy color. He didn't review that game. He didn't even acknowledge the existence of that game. He insisted it was a trilogy that ended with earthworm Jim 3D on the N64. That is just lazy. Anytime I see reference to anything from earthworm Jim on any videos from Cinemassacre I make it very clear to comment about how he dropped the ball and didn't even bother to review the Game Boy color game. It's not that he just didn't review it. He literally called the series a trilogy even though there's a fourth game. He didn't know about the game. That is laziness. The old nerd would have done the research and knew about the other game. On top of that I really wish he reviewed the SNES version of earthworm Jim 2. This isn't as big a deal but I wish he did. I found that with the classic two games that the Genesis version is the best for the first game because even though the SNES clearly has better sound quality than the Genesis for some reason the music sounds a lot better on the Genesis for the first game but on the second game the music sounds way better on the SNES, not to mention the graphics actually do look a little better plus when you beat the levels in the game you could actually press buttons on the controller to make the cows continue talking in various speeds. For whatever reason that isn't on the Genesis version but it's on the SNES version and it's just fun to do.

  @@RetroSpectors I also want to add that I also like most of the modern episodes, but I agree that the shit and puke jokes fall flat, and I don’t think they’re funny at all. Maybe I sound like a blind defender, but I’m just not very hard on criticism. The episode on The Immortal and my horse Prince, are the ones though I can’t bare to watch.

  They really need to do a mega remake of PS3, I would love to see it maybe looking like Guilty Gear! The team who did the first and second games wasn't present for PS3, they were working on Sonic. The box thing with Dark Force was a bit weird, but it was supposed to be a reference to Pandora's Box, they could have at least made it look special lol. Megid is a play on the Hebrew word Har Megiddo, which is Armageddon (destruction) since the spell is pure rage/destruction... Ayn and later Crys are the best too! Myau is also a boy lol.

As you said, in the same year, Phantasy Star Gaiden was also released (three months after that article), and it concluded with Alis returning to Algol. That 3D dungeon already features Rudy (Chaz), Reire (Alys), Thray (Rune), Fal (Rika), and Fallen (Wren).
