I can now hold a pretty well-aligned freestanding handstand for two minutes, and I noticed one of the things that helps the most is less intentionality, or thinking less. If I have a song in my head or am holding a conversation with someone, I'm able to get out of my own way mentally and let my body run the feedback loop. If I'm mentally scattered, it shows up in my balance. I like to think about Tom Cruise and The Last Samurai: Too many mind!

@yury marmeisteim . How long is your longest handstand? Any video evidence?? Let me know!

Honest question, not trying to find a mistake in the video. If the alignment helps with making it easier or less strength demanding to hold for longer, why do you think that longest handstands always turn into slight or extreme arch backs? Or the contortion handstands usually hold for longer? Isn’t the strength demands for keeping your body in the counter intuitive straight position, steal from the total energy expenditure to hold the handstand?

I believe it’s a strength move. When our muscles get tired in ups and down, we most likely to have a little or extreme arch. This is just what I experience when I try to hold more than a minute.

I did 35 minutes 52 sec . I can tell you . Positioning is not very important to think for long handstand hold Your body will adapt where you can sustain a hold . If you need to arch the back. Let it happen. If you move slow , you can’t injure yourself. Stay motivated and balance!

@@Talhasarwar47 i ask yury how long can he hold . He doesn’t respond to this question. I am ignored. I could not find any video evidence showing he experienced a long handstand endurance and here proclaiming having the knowledge for holding longer . I am sorry yury but we are not fools here . ( hope so ) 😂

@@TheGordbeast yes I know you asked him but honestly speaking I shared my opinions here what I actually think. Handstand is a very complicated skill. I have been learning it for more than two years I can now finally hold free stranding handstand for 1 minute or so but my handstand is almost in a straight line now. I am so happy🫶🏻

Thank you for the video! I'll definitely try out the last two exercises you showed. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for how to build endurance slightly beyond what you discuss here? I managed tu build up to a bit over three minutes freestanding a few years ago (documented here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fYBt18-iZarVpKw.html), mostly by simply trying to stand longer, but there ought to be more effective ways to practice. I think the drop sets you mention in this video might be good, for example. Any other tips would be much appreciated!
