Man I need me some IL2. You told a great story without narration or excessive titling. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Lightning was one of the sexiest planes ever built.

Nice video. In it you had P-47's carrying out ground attacks while P-38's were giving top cover. To quote Freddie Mercury, " Thunderbolts and Lightning....very, very frightening".

This is... unbelievable! My son found this and when we started watching it I absolutely thought it was real for the first couple of minutes. I was actually thinking to myself "damn, this is some really spectacular footage! How have I never seen this before?!" LOOOOOL I still can't get over that this is IL-2! What have I been doing with my life?!!

Lets see P-38, P-51 P-47 and B-25 a US-6 fuel truck and a half track with a Quad! Beautiful video THIS is why I watch YOUR vids Zetexy they are truly the best I have ever seen!!!

Really loved the video, my mother help build the P-38's. One small problem. The rain or moisture on the canopy's and dripping down on the screen. Runway is dry, your various camera angle indicate CAVU, and it looks looks its about 10:am for takeoff. so no heavy fog or dew from the night before. Moisture on the outside of the windsheild comes and goes after you get threw the first layer of clouds that weren't there at takeoff. And that moisture sure looks like its in still air. I would say its inside moisture, but now and then we see streamers going back that appear to be on the outside. Also for that time in the war, and mission type, they would have gone out with drop tanks/Napalm/200lb booms, & rockets for strafing runs. At this point the 9th Air Force, under Jimmy Doolittle, was in an all out effort to destroy the German Air force any place they could find them.

Zoom and Boom baby!

The P-38J-25 bloc was the first with factory-installed dive breaks. Now the P-38 jocks could perform split-S maneuvers without fear of compression problems.

Boyhood stuff, lots of fun!

Really awesome engine sounds. Power and prop rpm would have been reduced shortly after TO for climb power settings. Those engines would not last at 55" of MP to designated altitudes of around 25000'. Probably around 40" of MP and 2500rpm. Cruise would be 30" MP and 2250-2300rpm. Great video.

Not even close to being true, the numbers you're giving are for the early P38 with the original innercoolers and the early war lower octane fuels. These are the later J models with the improved innercoolers on later war higher octane fuel, they were running 60 to 70" of MP at take off and lower altitudes and 55" at altitude while cruising.

@@dukecraig2402 Engines were life. Mistreated engines don't last long. Providing cover for B29s or escort of the same would not require those extreme power settings. Fuel consumption management was everything. P38s don't circle formations at 55" of MP.. I stand by my original comment regardless of what engines are in the plane.

Modern CGI is just amazing.

Video about Bf 110 deleted by KZread team because of "hate speech" reason. I have sent them several letters trying to understand what is "hate speech" they mean exactly. But there no answer yet. So I think I need an alternative platform for videos about german planes. Maybe Vimeo should be for videos about german planes and tanks? I don't know for the moment how to pass-through this situation...

Beautifully done--mostly. The black gun smudges on top of the fighters' wings are not realistic. They are something modelers do, but they were not seen on the real fighters.

This is really well done yet you have B-25 c Mitchell's flying with late model P-51 D's and late model P-47 D's and late model P-38 J's all and all well done yet better research should have been done. Thanks though.
