On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

    2:50 they're Me 410 - the successors of the Bf 110. They've got two remote controlled 13mm rear guns instead of the single 7.98mm gun in a 110. You can recognise them by the shape. A 110 is rather boxy, whereas a 410 is much more round and sleek and shares its engines and outer wings with Bf 109 G models.

    IL-2 is simply still the best WW2 combat flight simulator, DCS is great but nothing does WW2 like IL-2. Flight model, damage model and engine management are just so good! I played IL=2 when it first came out 300 years ago (to play it on the Hyperlobby (remember that) or online needed installing it and it's many, many, many, many, many patches in a very specific order (not in "the correct" order) and it still rocks now, no need to apply 10 patches in a mixed up order!

  • @tonyrun5802

    @tonyrun5802

    They surely would with the twin props, and it's reported some pilots made use of it. Tho I'm not sure it would be safe at all in the early jets like the Me-262 and the Gloster Meteor. Engines weren't developed thoroughly at the time

  • @plushie946

    Me-262 cannot do it to a degree that would be practical in a dogfight. You have to baby the throttle and there's throttle ranges for stable flight and dogfighting. If you're doing it for an advantage in a dogfight it would be impossible, either you quickly do it and flame out or set your engine on fire, or you do it slowly and safely, in which case the time it takes for you to feel the effect would make it useless.

Edit : That bounce on landing, at least it was straight down the airstrip and you did not change your attitude, let the bounce happens keep dancing on those rudder pedals to keep from ground looping. I'd say it was great recovery and awesome you admitted you need to work on landings more. Tail draggers are no joke and landing them is a perishable skillset.

Might as well have been shooting .303 with how long you had to sit behind enemies. Especially larger planes. They look much better now. Especially excited for the dynamic damage modelling. It looks stunning on the tanks, I bet the planes will look just as good.

    I’ve been a fan of WWI and WWII planes forever. Loving the modern stuff too, but I prefer to fly the older stuff. As much of the IL-2 Sturmovik content as you like.

    the belly scoop had a fun habit of ripping the back half of the p51 off during belly landings. Grandfather was in the air force stationed in England during WW2.
