No promises on that time line but thats what I'm hoping for, once its ready for release I will post a video on the channel to let everyone know.

    I choke up when I think of the courage of those pilots to fly down the throat of the enemy. Britain was on the back foot for much of the war - they were just trying to keep their countrymen safe from invasion. Must have been a scary time. 😬

    That is perhaps the most realistic looking flight simulation for WW2 air to air combat that I have ever seen. Which is no small thing - as an aviation and history nut, I have seen a lot, plus a lot of the original footage from the time! A big "Thank you" and "Awesome job!" to Eagle Dynamics on this one! Nick Grey foreshadowed that this was coming in the interview that you did with him - and the results are absolutely fantastic. You two did a good job of showing the gunnery tactics and problems really well in your deflection shooting, and the damage models in the programming of this game are incredibly authentic and real looking. The small details like the flashes and shuddering of the aircraft when bullets and cannon shells hit was extraordinary. I reckon it might have been good enough for a veteran to nearly get PTSD just watching it!. Thanks for a really entertaining video - and keep up the good work! :-D

    There's a lesson about not turn-fighting a spitfire that these Germans clearly didn't learn

    A game is far different from real flight where pilots skills matters more. It was possible to turn fight with 109 against spitfire but requires more skill from pilot. Spitfire was far more easy to fly but 109 in competent hands was equal plane. For sure better in one circle fighting due to wing slats.

  • @milanprica7513

    @milanprica7513

    @@303Pinker errr nope. Wing slats weren't used intentionally in combat. Gunther Rall said so. 109s NEVER turned with Spits of they could help it. Johnny Johnson stated that only after FW-190 was introduced, Germans became bold enough to stay in a fight against a Spitfire. This implies that 109s used only zoom & boom.

  • @303Pinker

    @@milanprica7513 Slats was operated automatically. Sometimes with loud bang sound. Most of German pilots was not trying to turn tight so slats stayed closed. Slats allow higher angle of attack of wing and also effective alierons during stall. This allow to point nose in direction more effectively. Gunter Rall was not only German ace and his advices was for medicore trained pilots. For example Hans Joachim Marsielle was very successful in turnfighting at bf109. Also with spitfires.

    @@milanprica7513 Fw190 was more boom & zoom or hit & run fighter than 109. Fw190 was not turning at all comparing to 109. Fw190 was initially successful because speed and firepower advantage which suited perfectly to boom&zoom or hit &run.This ended when spit mk IX showed

    At least one German ace was successful with turnfighting. For example Marseille would often favour dramatically reducing the throttle and even lowering the flaps to reduce speed and shorten his turn radius.
