On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. You can also fly legendary SPADS, Fokkers and Camels in WWI dogfights over the trenches of WWI and discover your inner Red Baron! And all of this can be experienced in jaw dropping virtual reality!
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

It would be EPIC if these WW2 planes all had their WEP(War Emergency Power) performance programmed into this game. The Germans had water/methanol injection to go with their superchargers. And some also had straight up nitrous oxide. The WEP for the P51’s bumped them up from like 1400/1500hp to like 2200hp! That’s a MONSTROUS gain in performance. In hairy situations this would be so fun in the game. Just like in real life you’d have to use it sparingly or you’d blow the engine. The P51’s were given like 5 minute increments to stay safe for example.

What do you mean "aim assist"?? Optics that calculated lead were widely used during WW2. Also, what do you mean by " real " Dogfight? If an F 16 and a Mig 29 engage in a dogfight I can tell you that the pilots play as big a role as the specs of the aircraft itself, radars, missiles and all. It's like saying that today's cooks don't "do the real thing" Because they use recipes and theory.

@@panagiotispotamitis9872 today technology is without a doubt best and 💯 is as hard as it can get, in dogfights. But fighting with ww2 planes, without great technology like we have today, no HUD in helmet, etc etc make ww2 dogfights more interesting and skill demanding. Handling those piston aircraft is different task itself, as the orientation of plane affects working 4 stroke engines, I don't know whether pilot felt such problems, but in sims ww2 dogfights are harder than modern jet dogfights. But for comfort reasona like when patrolling or doing tasks other than dogfights, modern aircraft are wayyy better than ww2 planes imo, due to modern avionics.

I wonder how the MG 151 cannon, in either the 15mm or 20mm form, would fare as the hub cannon as compared to the 30mm cannon you have. It would seem that the higher muzzle velocity and rate of fire of the MG 151 would be ideal for combat against other fighters. The 30mm MG 103 seems that it would be better against bombers or other large lumbering aircraft.

I detest the political correctness of the times now…the swastika, like the Confederate flag, are part of history and should not be trivialized, just because of the past. It’s time folks grow up, and realize that symbols can’t hurt you now. It may be a small thing to mention, but, in the interest of history, they should be included, IMHO.

Hey GS, I’m not sure if this has been asked or not previously and if it has I do apologize, but with the upcoming launch of F4U from Magnitude 3. Will you be allowing it on your World War II server? The RN did operate a squadron or two in the ETO so there is historical precedent even in limited numbers and nation locked. Figured I’d at least ask, and again if it’s been previously touched on I do apologize for completely missing it. Take care and see you in the skies o7

hello, yes I will find a way to incorporate the f4u into the server. I understand its new and people will want to use the new module they paid money for, so one way or another we will make it work.

That was a big military secret on the outbreak of ww2. All nations hid data about their gunsight tech. By 1944, Spitfire and Mustang even had lead computing gunsight.

it's a big reflex sight, it was first introduced in late 1918, but it was too bulky and power hungry it could only be used in stationary positions like anti-tank guns and whatnot, later in ww2 they were made smaller being able to mount them on aircraft powering off of the battery, but still not small enough to mount them on a rifle like bfv and cod vanguard would want you to believe

I wish the effects for 30mm hits was better. Can't tell you're throwing 30mm grenades at people. Should have a big explosion/smoke cloud. Even 20mm make more of a show in real life than the Mk108 in DCS
