On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

    Hey sidewinder! awesome tip i learned is if your descent and angle is correct, your gun reticle will move over the target (from the end of course) and release somewhere towards the middle when its beginning to slow. weird to try but once ya do it its quite satisfying and reliable (sorry i realized i fly dive bombers more often than ground attackers so, you can use this but have to calculate your speed with the targets distance to gurantee a perfect drop)

    How feasible would differential thrust be with the mosquito's two engines? I know that WW2 props can be quite temperamental, but it would be interesting to see if it can be used at all.

  • @Tenderbits

    @Tenderbits

    It would cause tons of vibrations. The skill of flying a dual prop plane is tuning the harmonics of the two props to minimize this. As a pilot you are constantly needing to nurse this.

    The standard tactic for attacking ships or subs with 4.5-inch rockets is to approach broadside, aiming for a point just short of the ship's waterline, and rippling off all eight rockets in one salvo. The rockets will strike the water just short of the ship, travel underwater, and tear through the side of the ship just below the waterline. Note that after rocket motor burnout, the rocket projectile will begin to drop rapidly due to the drag of the tail fins, so the aim point in the gunsight should be slightly higher than the desired point of impact. Also, rockets tend to work better in a 30-45° dive, as can be observed in wartime gun camera footage from shipping strikes by the Banff Wing.
