On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

To be fair the 303 rounds managed to clog up the air intake for an engine on the last bomber.

Forget the spitfire, the Mosquito was the most badass British aircraft of WW2.
Fun fact the wood used in the Mosquito came from a small island on the west coast of Canada known as the Queen Charlotte islands (Haida Gwaii). A lake is named after the famous aircraft around which they logged the timber.
The De Havilland Mosquito is my absolute favorite WW2 fighter/bomber. The graphics are exceptionally well done and exquisitely nice. Thank you. Bravo!

Dude, this new map is looking great. Can't wait to try it out. Also, VR seems to really make a difference. Could you maybe make a video about settings and models? Thanks anyway, GS!
GS that Mosquito was DOPE! Never saw WWII kills take so few rounds - absolutely deadly guns. (maybe MORE Mosquitoes in our future?
The mossy is such a sweet aircraft. I don't know if they model it in 'Battle of Normandy' but the rockets for sea strikes were usually solid heads. Approach from the sides and aim for the waterline. Eight of those rockets is essentially a broadside from a heavy cruiser.
Absolutely love these WWII vids. Well done
Is Nigel a CG requirement? Or is he there to shield you from bullets if attacked from the rear starboard quarter?

I’m loving the screaming when they bail out!
I flew the Mosquito for the first time a few weeks back in IL2 and absolutely loved it. Great video man, great plane, good fun
When playing Luftwaffe campaigns in past flight sims, I hated doing an intercept mission and finding out the targets were Mosquitos. They're so damn fast, I needed to dive on them with the extra speed to catch them. On the level? Good luck. After they dropped their ordnance? Ha!
I love these warbird videos! But every time I see you do a bombing run, I want to see you climb into an A6 Intruder and do some low altitude bomb runs. Thanks for the awesome content!
4 20's gotta love the Mossy!
Definitely loving these WWII vids. Something about the grit of a good ol fashioned dogfight.
It's Mosquito Time!!! So I cast it to the TV. GS in a Mossie is one of my favourite things so deserves something bigger than my phone or tablet.
11:20 that glorious damage model
God damn it Nigel, BLINK!
Fantastic Mosquito Rockets. Incredible.
The recent WW2 videos have me fighting for my life for a IL2 sale. I cannot wait until I can try it in VR!
Would love to see you do a versus series like you do in DCS, but with aircraft in IL2 with a buddy of yours
Im imagining a Monty Python bit where the pilot is startled every time he turns and sees the navigator sitting there.
BF-110 VS Mosquito merge-dogfight might be interesting or maybe a Mosquito Night Fighter Mission ... they were said to be quite good for that sort of thing ... Nigel seems a steady hand, good to have on-board ... though he doesn't say much :)

Christ your co-pilot takes some pleasing 😳😂😂 Awesome plane
6:45 Man, that thing just POPED haha Love your WW2 content, keep it up!
He just casually became an ace in one sortie along with a damaged ship and a destroyed train. What a legend
I'm liking the new visual damage that came in the last patch. The holes a 20mm punch in any aircraft look crazy!
I love watching bandits join with their shadows!
Bombing in IL2 (any WW2 aircraft) is hard as hell, love how GS knocks it up to luck, lol. GS again just being excellent

Bombing trains was usually done along the railway line from ahead of the locomotive - it was better to drop short than long as the train would be derailed if the tracks were destroyed ahead of it.
It's always entertaining hearing the screams of your enemies !! LoL

Really enjoy these il2 vids
I remember listening to an interview with one of the pilots of these and he recalled a rather unfortunate night training excercise where they fired the 20mm cannons in the dark and proceeded to blind both the pilot and navagator for a good couple of minutes due to the flash but being as skilled as they were they managed to recover and proceeded to never do that again

GS channeling Oprah Winfrey, "20mm for you! And for you! And you! 20mm for all!"
I love the look of those radium dials on the mosquito.
“That’s the end of his tail” or “that’s the end of his tale” 😏

Very enjoyable video!
These videos are the most satisfying for some reason.
Every time you check 6, I just stare at Nigel, ngl. He's, like, right there. Right in your face
Nigel's the strong silent type
This is cool I just watched the movie mosquito squadron the other day. Decent movie for the era
Air Warrior from the olden days.
Nigel seems a blast at parties
Hey sidewinder! awesome tip i learned is if your descent and angle is correct, your gun reticle will move over the target (from the end of course) and release somewhere towards the middle when its beginning to slow. weird to try but once ya do it its quite satisfying and reliable (sorry i realized i fly dive bombers more often than ground attackers so, you can use this but have to calculate your speed with the targets distance to gurantee a perfect drop)
The mosquito was a highly efficient and effective intruder aircraft.... Even in daylight it would jump lots of 109s and 190s
The damage modelling does great justice to yer sharp-shootin' there GS!
If I had a blank cheque type token for one free aircraft in mint condition I would be strongly tempted to take a Mosquito. The speed and manoeuvrability of the mozzie just seems like a dream to fly. For the mean time, it looks like I’ll have to get Normandy and VR!!
How feasible would differential thrust be with the mosquito's two engines? I know that WW2 props can be quite temperamental, but it would be interesting to see if it can be used at all.
@Tenderbits
Жыл бұрын
It would cause tons of vibrations. The skill of flying a dual prop plane is tuning the harmonics of the two props to minimize this. As a pilot you are constantly needing to nurse this.
@Bushwookie_18
Жыл бұрын
Works great on the ground for doing donuts lol. Doubt it would work in air. Props do more pulling as opposed to jet engines doing more pushing.

@ryanupchurch9683

P38 pilots were known to chop a throttle. But there props spun counter rotation
@NASWOG
Жыл бұрын
It works but it’s challenging due to the constant speed props. You gotta independently control the manifold pressure and RPM… on a jet you just have to split the throttles lol
Great gaming, Mosquito is such a sweet plane
The standard tactic for attacking ships or subs with 4.5-inch rockets is to approach broadside, aiming for a point just short of the ship's waterline, and rippling off all eight rockets in one salvo. The rockets will strike the water just short of the ship, travel underwater, and tear through the side of the ship just below the waterline. Note that after rocket motor burnout, the rocket projectile will begin to drop rapidly due to the drag of the tail fins, so the aim point in the gunsight should be slightly higher than the desired point of impact. Also, rockets tend to work better in a 30-45° dive, as can be observed in wartime gun camera footage from shipping strikes by the Banff Wing.
Its so satisfying to watch these ww2 videos. Will you try the Gloster Meteor?

Nigel to GS, “You know how to fly this thing?” GS to Nigel, “Fly, yes. Land, No!”😆
The Bf-109s and Bf-110s along with Typhoons and P-45s scare me way too much... You're only at the mercy of the enemy aircraft in your six
Nigel looked like he was collating his stamp collection
The end of his tail, and quite possibly the end of his tale
The scream effects from your vids are something the devs should considder implementing for reals 😂
I think the Mosquito aircraft was like the first version of the A-10 Warthog and it's roll of a fighter Bomber.
Great Video GS, as always! Question, which version of hte Mosquito do you like better? This or DCS's version?
Nigel sitting there chillin'.
"The end of his tail" nice pun
Love these WWII videos in particular, but you're doing great with all of the content. It's a shame they couldn't slap a couple of .50's on instead of the four .303s, but what a wonderful aircraft. British ingenuity at its best. Thanks for the great videos.
Hey bro love the channel, Try changing the bomb delay to 3 or 4 seconds and you can skip bomb ships and point blank ground targets and have time to fly away before detonation 👍
Nice to see some action with Britain's Great Up-Down Machine.
Do you think you could play the ME 262 and go after bomber formations? Or transport planes? Super satisfying to watch those big planes go down :P
