Hi everyone, I’m Christan Long!
I am an adventure traveler who grew up as a part of The Long Family of Gorge River. We are the most isolated family in New Zealand. We live 2 days walk from the nearest road on the South Island West Coast, between Haast and Milford Sound.
Through the course of this upcoming video I’m going to show you through my eyes, actions and camera lens the full experience of living through a long cold dark arctic winter in Northern Norway. As you share this journey with me through the dark, you will notice subtle changes in my moods and personality that are only visible now, as we look back at these recordings in Hindsight.

In the moment in time they were captured I was not able to identify these changes. Now looking back from the future this adventure was one of my toughest and most rewarding life experiences yet. So, sit back, relax and enjoy this raw uncut and wild experience that I will remember for the rest of my life!!!

I used to live I. Alaska from 1974 to 1987. I became disabled in 1984 paralyzed from the chest down. So being in a wheelchair was quite an experience to learn on ice and snow. I moved from Alaska cause I got tired of the darkness. I also had problems when I took my wheels off my wheelchair and they would roll away in between cars where I obviously couldn’t go get it. Lol. Luckily when it happened someone saw it happen and got my wheel for me. 😀😀😀.

A lot of people adopting pandemic dogs. I was not going to give into this trend, but your footage of working with the dogs was one of the bigger influences on why I adopted one. Thanks for sharing this chapter of your work. It was a good one.
