ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

thank you for bringing your viewers to San Miguel de Allende. I have heard of this place before. I heard that it was an artsy city. I like the fact that you give us the history of the place. You always do this in your travel vlogs. I would like you to know that one of the things your bring to your subscribers is the SPIRIT OF JOY when you describe the places you visit. I have watched other channels like one showing a trek through Tibet. It was not a joyful blog. I did not feel a sense of joy. But your blogs always leave me with a sense of joy. Googling about SMA Mexico surprised me to know that a lot of hollywood movies were shot in that city. Indeed an exciting place to visit. It looks well maintained & tidy everywhere. Hoping our local govt in PH could do thesame for our cities. Btw, the closest PH city i could think of somewhat similar to SMA is Vigan City in northern PH where lots of hispanic collonial structures were preserved, but not as gastronomically delightful & exciting as SMA unfortunately. Again thanks for taking us to SMA. Muchas Gracias!

When I happened to come across the ones from the Philippines, I learned about your vacation vlogs. then subscribed to your channel, and that's when I first started to get attached. Ive watched since then.Your older vlogs were all beautifully created, enjoyable to watch, and included all of your family members, A pleasant family.. However, as I was viewing them, I noticed that they weren't receiving nearly as many views, and I felt really bad about it. I also observed and compared that your audience dramatically increased throughout your series about your travels in the Philippines. I hope you rapidly reach 100k subscribers.; if you had stayed a little longer, your subscriber count might have doubled. Also, thank you for visiting the country; you are one of my favorite vloggers now( try to look for making it happen,juicy vlog,becoming a filipino,8 miles from home,Mergim and a lot more , these are foreign vloggers who are loving to live in the Philippines and some now living in the Philippines) who makes significant contributions to the travel and tourist industry in the Philippines showcasing the beauty of the Philippine islands and its people,culture,food,history etc. I'm eager to see your family in the Philippines again for a subsequent episode of the "island hopping" series. Philippines has so many stunning islands that you'll never run out. I hope your stated intention to visit the Philippines in February 2023 materializes.Am looking forward to it.Blessings and safety on your travels. Rich family yet so down to earth.I hope you can still read this comment.Im watching your older vlogs.Try the city first the next time you go; you'll notice a lot of American influence. There are banks like Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, and Bank of America, to name a few, as well as food chains that are uncommon in other Asian cities. Some visitors mistakenly believed that the Philippines was only a collection of islands. I'm referring to cities like BGC and Makati, to name a few.God Bless.

Some vlogers had tasted Mexican cuisine and seen other place in Mexico, perhaps see their vlogs which might help you go around faster.
I applaud the way you are displaying such a positive vibe in your videos. I DO like them. Of course, it helps that your travels fall into the ultra luxury level. The house in SMA is exceptional but in all senses of the word. It’s an … exception. Most Airbnb and rentals do actually suck. We live 45 minutes from San Miguel and used to spend two or three nights a month in the city and enjoying the restaurant scene and friends. In the past 3 years, that number has dwindled to perhaps twice a year. Why? Simply because of all the negatives that shows up after the novelty fades. What’s left is a noisy and overcrowded small town in the weekend but one that dies for the other 4 days. The city is small but walking is not that easy with the hilly parts and horrendous sidewalks. As far as being the best city of the world (really was voted as the best small city) that speaks volumes about the voting system of that magazine and not so much about the reality! A bit like the ridiculous S. Pellegrino ranking of restaurants. Again, I must applaud you for making the very best and presenting a glowing image of your trip but it’s hardly the standard life of tourists and residents of SMA. Most foreigners who live in SMA are looking a living as cheaply as possible.
@AlwaysBeChanging

Thank you for appreciating our vlogging style and the video. We've heard a many people comment on how SMA is supposed to be more crowded. But it's interesting that this is our second trip there and the second home we've stayed in and the traffic was the same each time. We are also ver aware that Inpirato (our destination club) has a very consistent standard with their homes and experiences. When we've collected our drone footage, we've seen that so many of the other homes are gorgeous on the other side of those beautiful doors.
@CrossroadsWellness13

I completely agree. That house is hardly a ‘traditional Mexican experience’. It’s a privileged experience. I am a permanent resident of Mexico living near SMA and that is not something that would be affordable to anyone that I know. Mexican or Expat.

husband speaking - THIS was an interesting video even if it was a lot about food. It was how you collected everything, preparing it and finally chowing down. Other videos of eating and wine tasting - not so much for me. I may spend 10 min going through your 20 min. story - stoping whenever the kids are taking part. I've watched two of your Inspirato talks. For me only, having been to Europe only the one time, and as I said impressed with the history but unimpressed by their lives and how they have to live. Your current life style of going to these far away marvelous places, staying at the very best homes or hotels, eating, eating, is not a life for many folks, or affordable. Just being able to go for 2 or 3 weeks at one time is not an option for many every day workers. Your trip to the Philippines, for 3 weeks, is a minimum length that you need to recover from jet lag, loss of a day or two in traveling and to travel to 2 or 3 places to see. How many folks can do that. It's wonderful that you have these video stories that your children can look back on when they are older. I'm going to watch all your stories, some a little faster, others I will drag my feet. If your wife is the editor, she is a marvel. dennis kjolso - age 80

And why can adults walk around without masks and the poor children can't??? How does all this make sense? Great video! Just one thing. A tamale doesn't exist. It's either TAMAL, singular or TAMALES plural. TamalE hurts in the ears, that e in the end is silent. It is not pronounced. Actually it is non existant, not even silent since it is not written anywhere: so I don't really understand why it is always being added when talking about a singular TAMAL. ;)

What ?.. I’m Mexican and I think we are very different
Places in Mexico by the sea or lakes are much better, and getting safer by the day (even safer than San Miguel de Allende, which is in a cartel state)
husband speaking - If your wife wasn't so tall compared to the daughter, the way she bounces around, you might think she was just the older sister & not the mother.

I’m curious how you know that the produce in the Mercado is ground “organically“? Can you verify that they do not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers?
@AlwaysBeChanging
Жыл бұрын
We can’t personally verify that but we based our knowledge on what our guide/chef told us and asking vendors questions.

How did you get so much footage with hardly anyone on the streets and walkways and no cars. I lived there for 12 years and while it is a beautiful little town Your video is not an honest portrayal

I liked your video - but just hafta say the food at the mercados is NOT all organic. Many times the veggies and meat are from the giant agricultural businesses in Mexico.
