He is patiently waiting for her to be ready to mate. He wants to mate with her and only her. The other lioness was JUST passing by (poor one) and he attacked her because she was "disturbing" them. Male lions will attack anyone that's coming close to the lioness in heat that he wants to mate with. But at the same time, you can TELL that the lioness in heat didn't want him to attack her sister either. Cute

Bro was in total control as is by not pouncing again, if he wasn't in control, he would've attacked anyway & attacked or snapped on his mate too. That behavior of bellowing while standing is him establishing dominance audibly to both of them, just because he entertained her snarling doesn't mean it was over. Which is why he pressed her when she rolled over, you're supposed to stay put in a situation like that. Be docile until he's done lecturing you. More than likely the other wanted his affection too, hence why she literally just walks into him. Lionesses aren't known for being subtle when flirting, at all.

East African lions have a great physique.. You can see how much he's in shape when he stands up.. The lioness is early on her eastrus and the male is waiting for her to get ready and mating will commence ensuring all 3 or so cubs belong to him.. Even while males live in coalitions.. They are keen to ensure their bloodline by preventing other males from mating with her

10/8/20 ... I've always been fascinated with big cats. I love how patient he was with her. He wanted her and only her. Watching him, he seemed so tired. Maybe it was their nap time.

"Let", not "allow". Lionesses are the ones who run a pride (from hunting to migrating location), not male lions, so the males don't give out order nor allow the females anything. Male lions only want the position of sperm supplier, not a king.

That’s why lionesses move on quickly when male lions get killed by another challenging male lion and his pride is taken over by that other lion. Being respected and loved is better than being feared. Hyenas have the similar culture. Except, it’s the females that are dominant and the males are submissive. It’s the opposite. The good thing about hyenas is that they don’t abuse their mates even if they’re stronger.

lioness arent really submissive they too want a mate and have kids to pass on their genes although the females of all species are choosier so the male has to wait for him to get accepted . male lion cant force female to mate bcoz females of this species are aggressive too . so he has to stay calm until she agrees.

I LIKE THE MUSIC. Oh boy patiently waiting for the lioness to give the all go signal to mate!!! Also did not want the other lioness disturbing the homefront.....He's trying to keep the nest nice and cozy, playing with her tail, sniffing and just being front and center waiting, and waiting, and waiting! So yeah he's a little on edge as his nerves are being TRIED!!! The other lioness was like let me get away from this fool before he loose his mind and take his frustrations out on me.....I'm not trying to die today!

The male you see on screen and the first lioness is a mating pair That second female is his daughter Poor girl was just passing by to say hi but disturbed them (which is a no no for the male lion because he will attack anyone that comes near the female he wants to mate with ) He attacked her First lioness is the mother of that 2nd lioness She growls at him because she doesn't want him to hurt her daughter (but also growls at her daughter to get her to leave ) She was submissive to the male lion because that her dad and the king of the pride The mating pair (male and female who were disturbed ) Got up and moved away so they could resume ummn their activities 😅 And indeed they are magnificent beasts 💗💗💗

I love watching lion family drama.😂😂😂😂. Always something going on and someone’s always mad at someone else.🤣. This might look rough to us but that male could have hurt her if he was really angry. He didn’t. This was pretty much the equivalent of walking in on your sibling and her boyfriend or girlfriend and them yelling “GET OUT OF MY ROOM DO YOU KNOCK?!”

The big guy seems to think the female may be coming into heat but I don’t see her flirting and activity trying to encourage him to mate with her. He doesn’t want the lioness out of his sight. The lioness that came up and got rebuffed rolled onto her back in a submissive posture so the male wouldn’t attack her.
