Impressive.. The old king lays a nasty bite 3 seconds in, then he fights out of being pinned by both lions by attacking the leg, and proceeds to charge forward ferociously despite his injuries. Old king was an absolute monster.

Lions don't have very good endurance, but they are persistent bullies. Typically, this is how dominant males are dethroned - by coalitions of other males. They don't even necessarily try to kill him, but rather break the spine and/or pelvic bones so they can't hunt (even if they somehow survive and heal), and mutilate the genitals so they are recognized as useless to females.

Wow.. this lion was tough. Respect to him taking on both younger stronger opponents and didn't go down without actually serving some himself

It’s amazing how the old King seemingly acknowledges defeat and his fate but refuses to run away. He rather dies in his kingdom and on his own terms. The young lions also seem content toward the end to indulge the old warrior in this demand. They become less tense as they witness the defeated king succumb to his fate.

This is exactly why lions are more respected, beloved and popular than tigers. The tiger is generally bigger and stronger, but they lack the courage and fighting spirit that a lion possesses.

When theyre outnumbered they won't instigate. But they won't run away. N if one is down they dont both go down together. Theyre smarter than that.

Why would he recklessly stay and fight a battle he can't win if he can get away? Lions are about survival, just like any other animal. He couldn't run away and that's why he didn't, it's that simple. Has nothing to do with "nobility" or "bravery"

This is an amazing system of nature. Lot to learn from this. Once this weak Lion was the King, roaming around fearlessly in his Kingdom. He probably finished off his rival same way as he is being finished by the current king and his companion. Beautiful birds are singing while a killing or a war for a kingdom is taking place .. what a contrast! Nature has been evolving such a way for a thousands of years if not millions.

Very hard to watch such beautiful lions fight. Sadly enough, the two young lions one day will greet the same faith. Thanks for sharing.

The greatest kings that ever lived The Mapogos. The majingales took them down one by one. Mr. T aka satan went out against 5-6 of em Shaka aka kinky tail was sedated by the people but he still fought aggressive until the brutal end against the 5-6. Dreadlocks and pretty boy were poached. The leader exiled and met a lonely end. I'll never forget the mapogo coalition and can neither forgive humans who played their dirty hand in bringing these majestic kings down.
