Isaiah Dale In reality it was because “Old Town Road” was barely a minute long so it increases streams dramatically through replays, Tik Tok turned it into a meme, and for the first time people were hearing a country/trap style of music so it was surprising. He’s most likely not going to recreate that ever again as it was the perfect storm. But they are trying by keeping all the songs short and trying to mimic the formula. Right now he probably is saying he doesn’t know what kind of music to make and they probably had him release all kinds of songs to get an idea of what style people like the most. I just worry about this kid because he went from nowhere to famous real quick and already signed with Columbia records apparently? The industry already has their claws in him.
