The part about him talking about his lips and dark skin hurt to hear. No one should be made to feel ashamed of their natural features. I fully subscribe to this comment, especially the part about his lips and skin. It didn't just hurt, it was heartbreaking. Me to tbh cause I've been going throught so much shit lately.

I tear up every time I listen to this song. This song is not just about feeling different because you aren't straight but also about how you need to first accept yourself and then everything else takes place. I had trouble understanding who I was or why I am who I am and I think this song made me realise that it's okay to not fit in, it's okay to take time for yourself because I think in this busy world we forget to take care of ourselves. So if you are out there putting others first then no put yourself first, make yourself happy and only then will others be happy around you. This song is criminally underrated

This song makes me tear up every time. I love how Lil Nas X has such range. Hand's down, this is one of my favorites. I can relate, I've been there, and it wasn't until my 30s that I felt comfortable enough to accept myself. I play this song for my kids all the time, and I hope they can learn from and relate to the story in this video. Thank you so very much for these messages, and for being so unapologetically you.

This really proves how far he has gone. He starting of as a high school student who worked at taco bell that hated his life to being a star that is has people who are inspired by him. Im so proud of him.
