Lifting the underwater habitat 80 cm up

Спорт

Depth of the habitat was 6,8 m. We lifted the habitat 80 cm up so the depth of the habitat is now 6 m. The length of the dive was about 3 hours. We used tools like monkey wrench and chain hoist.
Vedenalaisen habitaatin siirto 6,8 metristä 6 metriin Montolan kaivoksessa. Sukelluksen pituus oli 3 tuntia. Operaatiossa käytettiin jakoavainta sekä ketjutaljaa.

what was the reason for the lifting? Deco with more O2 at 6m?

@@applewar1an Main reason was to reduce OC-divers ppo2 from 1,7 to 1,6. At the same time we were able to reduce 3h CCR dive deco by about 5 minute.

This is incredible. 100m+ dives at those temps...hours of run time...overhead environment.. And now I find out about the habitat. Really amazing. Edit: Just saw the caution/warning sticker in the habitat. What does it say? Curious :P

Can't remember the exact wording but I believe it's a warning about non breathable air. The main concern is concentrated carbondioxide but the air could be also be very rich in helium or low in O2 if a lot of rebreather divers have been having deco stops.

I have noticed that you don't seem to use any mav's on your jj's. It's hard to see but I guess you have the o2 mav? Or are you going super simple and removing both? 😁 Safe diving!

I see the o2 mav's when you are in the hab. But on other dive videos I sometimes see none...

Yes. We all have the O2 MAVs in place. You need to be able to run the unit manually if the electronics fails and when you are decending at low set-point. You also need to be able to connect the off board gases.

@@sheckexley We have always the O2 MAVs in place. They are sometimes hard to see and even hard to find when you have 1-3 stages on top. Pasi has a newer divecan unit but I think he has removed the diluet mav but kept the O2 mav.
