Larry said a few times here something like “I’ll get back to the hard stories.” I speak for myself obviously, but I think many people would agree. Yes, the shock value of the jewel thieving and prison stories caught my attention and brought me here. In the beginning they brought me back repeatedly. But now? Now I’m just interested in Larry Lawton. Especially after watching this one and still enjoying it. I know that it’s Larry I’m interested in and not necessarily the ‘hard stories.’ I just felt like Larry should know. Maybe they will read this comment. If you agree, show Larry some support and let him know.

I’m 16 years old, almost 17 gonna be a senior next year and then I’m out from school. This and your previous chapters remind me not to stray away from the good path. The things that I do regularly and to think that those simple things would be stripped from me once If I were to go to prison is enough to keep me away from doing any sort of crime. The experiences you’ve shared throughout your video has reminded me to be thankful for the small things like being able just to eat good food. Keep up the amazing work Larry.

This episode reminds me... I taught in a New York Community College from 2009 until 2020 when COVID closed everything down. In my first class one of my students had just gotten out of a 25 year stretch in prison. Half of the course involved making a computer portfolio. This guy had never seen a computer, didn't know how to even turn it on. But he was determined to succeed. My student lab assistant and I walked him through step by step. He learned it all and made an A for the class. Some years later I ran into him again and he had a job in the same college, helping other students. He was proud and I was proud. There was another student, another class. An older guy, obviously street wise, chose a desk close to me, in the front. In the beginning of the course, each student told the class a bit about themselves. This guy stood up and began telling about doing over 20 years in prison, and now he was starting a new life. His story went on for quite a while and he spoke from his heart. When he finished, the entire class stood up and applauded.

Jesus, I did 14 hours for a BS domestic violence arrest (cops lied to my face and when I called them on it they took me downtown, was just having an argument loudly outside and someone called them, nothing your average cop would care to do paperwork for) and those 14 hours were absolute hell. I was cold, uncomfortable, in pain, I didn't have my medications so I was emotionally screwed up, I'm a huge guy so my arms were all twisted from the chains, one of the people in the pod was trying to start shit with me... I'll never forget those sensations. Those 14 hours haunt me, so doing a decade or more? I wouldn't make it through.

Larry Lawton, you’ve helped me sooo much( I’m 13). Before watching this I was a “bad kid”. I would do petty theft, steal candy and stuff like that but because of all these videos I’ve relised that that petty theft evolves into bigger crimes. I never understood the concept of actual jail time at this young of an age. Because of you I’ve completely stopped and am now a better person. Thank you, Truly.

I got a taste of some of that feeling after basic training and the beginning of my job training. Months of communal showers, large bays, bunks, fights, being governed for every minute of every day, and then finally having a room with only one other guy, our own shared bathroom, being able to go on dates with women, etc. It was even more of a relief when I got out of training, which lasted almost three years, and I had my own house! I couldnt believe it. After years of having zero privacy I had my own place, a wife (she was 500 miles away at this point), freedom to do whatever I wanted when I was off-duty, I didnt have to stand in formations or march around for no damn reason. It was amazing. I cant imagine what freedom after 11 years of prison feels like.

Larry, Many years ago, about 1978, I worked as a special assessments clerk at the Lee county clerks office in Fort Myers Fl. My office was directly above the entrance area used by the sheriff's office to bring in juvenile offenders for their court appearances. I would look out my window and observe these fresh faced little kids in leg irons chained together in striped jump suits being escorted into the holding area. I would think " Dear God, what have these young people done to deserve to be herded like livestock and prodded along as animals into the slaughter". What bitterness must be in their hearts. yes they committed a crime, but to be treated in such a fashion does not add any dignity to them or us who might think these young people incorrigible. Your program of honesty and reality would have been so helpful for these kids. Please keep up your work. Our young people benefit from an honest approach to the realities of life. What you do is believable and it works. Thank You.

Wheatley 1665 Hey Wheatley, he was asked this question for almost a half hour on one of his past livestreams, I'll quote what I can remember he shared. He had been sitting in his cell that morning and was told by another inmate to come hurry and watch the TV saying a plane hit the world trade. Larry recalled thinking to himself that it was probably no big deal, just a little single-person stunt plane or something, only to walk into the TV room and find the second tower get struck with the second airliner. They sat and watched in awe for a bit until lockdown was called because some other inmates were laughing and making terrorist jokes, which led to some violence. The prison didn't want a riot, so they kept them locked down for a week or longer if I remember right. His dad was a sheet metal worker who installed a bunch of ventilation systems in the trade center back when it was being constructed. After they calmed down and levied the lockdown, I can't remember what was said after, but you could go back and watch his most recent livestream. Hope this gave you an idea as to what it was like.
