There are no words to describe how excited I am that LeVar Burton is FINALLY becoming a guest host on Jeopardy!. I grew up with him as host of Reading Rainbow and clearly, like Alex himself, he has a passion for knowledge. Not to mention a great voice. I know he will do an incredible job and I look forward to when he starts on Monday.

I worked with him at the Children's Miracles Network years back touching up his makeup. When I tell you he is the kindest, most professional person to work with. There were some miscommunications with some people & they started bickering. He reeled everyone back with such command but love it was amazing to watch. Not prideful but completely devoted to his craft. I will never forget the experience. He deserves this!

It’s not anything they can control.” Trump later said in a 1997 Playboy interview that “the stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true.” 1992: The Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino had to pay a $200,000 fine because it transferred Black and women dealers off tables to accommodate a big-time gambler’s prejudices. 1993: In congressional testimony, Trump said that some Native American reservations operating casinos shouldn’t be allowed because “they don’t look like Indians to me.” 2000: In opposition to a casino proposed by the St. Regis Mohawk tribe, which he saw as a financial threat to his casinos in Atlantic City, Trump secretly ran a series of ads suggesting the tribe had a “record of criminal activity [that] is well documented.” 2004: In season two of The Apprentice, Trump fired Kevin Allen, a Black contestant, for being overeducated. “You’re an unbelievably talented guy in terms of education, and you haven’t done anything,” Trump said on the show. “At some point you have to say, ‘That’s enough.’” 2005: Trump publicly pitched what was essentially The Apprentice: White People vs. Black People. @@kaybee5846 Here's the thing. I made a positive statement about an individual & for whatever reason that person decided to bring politics into it. This was about LeVar & Jeopardy. Yes, I hit him hard. He also stopped replying so it worked. He left me alone. That was on him. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I know it's just a guest host gig, but I cannot think of anyone else who could possibly follow Alex Trebek. I hope he nails it, he is perfect for the job.

They really need to give it to him. 1> He's good at hosting stuff. He's got a proven track record. 2> He's devoted a tremendous amount of his time and talent to helping kids learn to read, so he's a big supporter of education. 3> He's got a lot of his own followers. He may attract a lot of new people to Jeopardy. 4> He clearly really, really, really wants to do it. What more could you possibly want in a host?

Agreed, for some it was hard to catch the episodes in their markets because of the Olympics.

I am definitely waiting for this . I will be watching jeopardy this week. He is the closest host to Alex in my opinion. He would be perfect for the role if they pick him.

Ugggh, Jeopardy is not airing in my local city due to the Olympics! I would rather watch LeVar's olympic performance this week than those games.

He also won the Star Trek Edition of The Weakest Link about 20 years ago, and in terms of celebrities, his record of $167,500 still holds up.

He was different from Alex, yet brought that similar combination of interesting and reassuring. Really loved his week.

He's my choice too, however let him audition like everyone else. We don't know how he'll be yet. He did an interview a few days ago where he said it started out rough and got better. So we'll see how he performs over the course of his episodes.

@@caomhan84 In my experience it's not a good job & fit unless it starts out rough. That way one is more motivated to succeed. Loved Levar in Star Trek and I think he could make a great host. After seeing him for years with a visor on I always think it is interesting to see his intense eyes as he naturally is.

@@johnpossum556 Yeah. Ken Jennings has a big shot of getting the permanent role though unfortunately. Not unfortunately, cause I'll support either one of them if any of them get it permanently. I say "unfortunately" because I want LeVar to have it. But Ken deserves it too! It would make total sense if they gave it to him! I think Ken has a better shot of getting the role because of his past with Jeopardy, but I really want LeVar to take it! Hell, if the poeple want both, just have them share the role or something and let LeVar do a season, then Ken do a season! I hope Mayim Bialik doesn't get it though. I'll be happy for her, and I love Mayim, but I just don't see her fitting in with the show overtime. I think out of the three, it's gonna be either LeVar or Ken. LeVar needs a good performance as host and the ratings, and if those things don't happen, it's gonna be given to Ken. So I'll be tuning in tomorrow!! :)

I am more impressed with Jennings or Bialik. Jennings in particular knows the show inside and out and he was solid and reliable over a six week run.

Even the children's TV show Reading Rainbow on PBS Kids, because it's so great for children to read a book everyday for your future. Third Afroamerican guest host & second in row & second male Afro after Bill Whitaker. Previously was Robin Roberts, second in row from "Good Morning America" & Second in row in every week rotation of guest hosts, next after George Stephanopoulos. Last 2-week host was Dr Sanjay Gupta with Indian origins.

It took me a couple of parsecs to get used to his enthusiasm, but didn't take long for me to realize it is genuine, not put on. So I say yes. I had really tuned out after Cohen who was very offensive imo. So far I like Jennings, Richards, Rogers & Burton.

I’m hoping he does a phenomenal job. I expect him to. He and Ken Jennings are the only two I feel positive about putting up there permanently. I don’t know that Ken wants the job. I know LeVar does.

Yes, someone with an unusual or unique speech pattern seems to work well in this position.

Way before Alex had cancer we knew that someday, for whatever reason, Alex would be traced. I have always thought Levar seemed like a perfect fit for the style of this show. I hope he does well. I also think Mayim did well, too. I suspect those two people will be my top picks.

No it’s actually because I grew up watching Reading Rainbow and because Mayam Bialik is brilliant and has a really fun personality that I think would work really well for the show. I just couldn’t pick one over the other because they would both be great choices. Is that enough justification for you?
