Hi everyone, Levar’s performance has blown up recently so I guess I’ll drop this here. There has been a lot of controversy and arguably toxicity over the guest hosts, and I don’t think Alex would be happy about that. If there is a guest host you don’t like, that’s okay, you can watch the show for contestants like Matt. Also any toxic comments towards anyone here about their opinions will be removed, as this should be a safe space for people to chat. Thank you for understanding, and let’s hope Matt pulls through for next season. Edit: He made it folks, can’t wait for next season already

Who doesn’t like him for Jeopardy? He’s literally perfect! He has that smooth voice that we all grew up on and love, and he’s great at reading the clues! RIP AlexTrebek and I think he would vote for Levar.

Literally never been impressed by celebrities...just don't have the awe for them like some folks do (nothing against the ones who do). That being said the only celebrity autograph I ever wanted and ever got and got to say thank you to the person for their work....that person was Lavar Burton. Reading kept my childhood light in some dark moments throughout it....The Reading Rainbow helped me find my love for it. Good luck to the children that will miss out on quality programming like that and a host with the love that he has for it.

Better than Katie Couric and Dr Oz, but not nearly as good as Ken Jennings, Robin Roberts, or Mayim Bialik.

Levar was a great guest host.. and you don't have to take my word for it.

I disagree. His demeanor is too serious. His voice isn't strong, due to age. I'm not putting him down as a person. I just don't see this as a good role for him. I could see him playing a detective on a police show.

He was a tad nervous at first, but he's definitely the right fit.

I totally disagree. His voice isn't strong, on the quieter side. He seemed too serious, I think just his natural demeanor. I see him more of playing a drama film or tv role.

Levar Burton is right behind Mr. Rogers for me as a childhood "friend" that made learning interesting. To bad he is the wrong color for some people to appreciate him! He should have been the Jeoparty host.

He was not a good host. I dont care what color he is. He made stupid comments when people got questions right...as if he were an elementary school teacher. It was weird and out of place.

He said his wife didn't grade him favorably the first episode, he loosens up and improves (he says) so it will be fun to watch this unfold the rest of the week.

I think he’s perfect for the show . He has a great reputation.

Well it was his first outing. I'm sure even Alex Trebeck took time to find his poise as host of Jeopardy.

With the new guy out it's got to be Levar. 👍

He dont even want it anymore and I dont blame him. Some things are too perfect, him replacing Alex smoothly was one of them!

He was the guy for the job. Perfect fit.

I think it's tremendous. It should be him or Ken Jennings.

Ken Jennings is a milquetoast and was an awful host; boring would be a compliment. Brad Rutter at his peak would have been phenomenal. I was really impressed with Mike. This is the only snippet I've seen of Levar Burton and he's very personable.

I have to say that I came here for the humorous comments on how bad this video was. I couldn't stop laughing when it said "the missing footage." But it was great seeing Levar.

Without seeing the video, my vote goes to Levar Burton all the way. After seeing this, my vote still goes to Levar but he needs to relax and stop trying to be "A Jeopardy Host" and just be himself. First day jitters I guess, but he will be epic when he finds his stride.

He is clearly the man for the job.

@ Chris Webb. Levar is a small guy overall. The podiums on stage dwarfed him. No stage presence at all. May be good behind the camera directly but not on stage.

It's kind of ironic that Levar said "what is Steven Hawking" but Matt actually wrote down "who. is Steven Hawking?" Lol.

I think it’s because Matt says What’s instead of who when he rings in. He is smart to do that because he says What’s and he thinks of the answer it gives him more time to think of the answer.

Levar Burton was the most qualified. Unfortunately his skin wasn't pale enough.

I was so excited when he came on, but he just didn't have the excitement factor I would expect him to bring l' m sorry but in my opinion Mike Richards is the best choice.

Levar just didn't smile- Mayim smiles a lot and brings a lot of energy to the game, which Levar did not do. Maybe age is a factor. When younger he seemed to smile a lot more and he had a lot more energy. Mayim is the best so far and they're keeping it open but who will beat her? Ken Jennings has less energy and enthusiasm and charm. I think Mayim will keep it, maybe with some occasional guest hosts, who knows.

Mike Richards was PERFECT.

He deserved to be fired, no he definitely wasn’t perfect he was mean to people on the show and on the internet he should have realized if you type something bad on the internet, it never goes away. He deserved it

Seemed a bit nervous but I thought he brought a certain thoughtfulness and heart to the hosting which with all due to respect to Trebek was sort of lacking in the show. But maybe thats the issue is that this show is sort of stiff and academic. Also can’t under qualify the likely racist undertones of people’s criticism. All that being said, people are entitled to their opinions even their toxic ones. It would be great to see Lavar back on television again in any capacity.

They ended the game with negative money so they didn’t make it to Final Jeopardy, there’s a whole screen about it in the video
