Jason Hunter's Perseus Strike Fleet is first on the scene. There can be no doubt who was responsible after the savage Bloodwing attack against Lunar Six One and the devastating invasion of El Rey.
The Core Alliance now faces attack against five possible primary targets. Battle groups have been deployed, but the admiralty knows their firepower isn't close to what is needed to match the combined forces of three armadas. Catastrophic risks forced by corrupt delays and appeasement combined with short-sighted cruelty inflicted on former enemies have caught up with human civilization, and now Alliance civilians will pay the price if the captains of warships like DSS Argent make even a single mistake.
There will be no easy victories nor glory in a Second Praetorian War. Immense spacecraft with the power to destroy life on a planetary scale will join battle over human populations for the first time in nearly 100 years. Only bravery and sacrifice can bring the hostilities to an end before there is nothing is left to fight for.
Captain Hunter has been training for this moment his entire life. But he cannot escape the crushing uncertainty this war should not be happening.
Let None Return Alive is book one in the Destroy All Starships series.

Captain Jason Hunter has encountered his share of inexplicable phenomena since the launch of the battleship Argent, but this one might end up taking top prize. Get ready for a battle you have to read to believe, because things in the Core Seven system are definitely not what they seem.

Brilliant; organized thinking and the ability to look at more than cause and effect is the type of brain exercise that is amazing. Thank you for this story.

1:25 Is there an odd angle one can hang at in space? The answer, I suppose, is only from within ones own narrow perspective.

Cool story.Very well thought out technology. And the bit about turning the enemy's guns against them is one I've also considered for one of my story ideas. (as of now I write for my own amusement) I do have one question, wouldn't they already have some fighter assets in space as CAP or is there a technical reason that's not possible? Conclusion good story and not a bad read. Constructive criticism: I was honestly having trouble at points keeping the timeline straight. Especially in the flashbacks. I do like the technical detail. However I was having trouble at some points keeping track of the technical details and the action at the same time. I had to back up and re listen to some sections to get a full picture of what was going on. Don't take this as a condemnation and you're a better writer than I am and I'll freely admit it. Just trying to help. Hopefully.

The only issue with space battles with large ship is that most fighting would be at distances that would render visual detection not possible, although there would be times close range fighting is necessary. Also it would be better to make a ship that is cylindrical in shape that is rather long(300-400 ft in length) with a tip of solid metal and weapons stationed 360° around the hull, you could also have a version with embedded weapons whose purpose is to ram an enemy ship before opening the hatches covering the weapons so you can fire them inside the enemy ship
