Thank you for this! The solution that held the source buttons worked for me. I thought the amp was toast but now I'm watching LOTR in 5.1 surround sound thanks to your video.
Hi there, just a quick heads-up. The model number is written wrong, it should be AVR-X500, so you might wanna update that to help others to easier find this video. And that particular model was manufactured from 2014 to 2015, not in the 90's. The HDMI ports got into mainline AV receivers only around end of 00's Thanks for the video!

Excellent video as always!. Yeah firmware related problems usually the hardest to diagnose if you don't have the proper documentation! Badcaps forum is a gold mine of information.😀
avr1912 power on but no sound for speakers but subwoofer is working. When I check the digital board BDV3002 ic is produce too much of heat. but that ic is not related to sound. according to schematic diagram that ic is a HDMI switcher. do you have any suggestions.

Just curious - are all amp circuit boards supposed to be grounded to chassis? I have a Sony ZX66i (2012) no sound, that isn't & I'm wondering if that is a possible fault or just optional? Very informative video.
Interesting I bought a 2nd hand Drnon avr 1713 . Twice on warm restart the right front failed. Slight cracking when volume up. At first thought was speaker or cable so re connected but not. But after shut down and restart came good. 2nd time took bit longer Just remembered, did also flash up = 4 dB offset. ?
Hi, what bridge rectifier is used in denon avr x500. .
This helped diagnose the issue with my Denon receiver. Turns out the main control chip on the preamp board has this bubble on it. Anyone have any tips for fixing?

Nowadays, the software is always checked first =)
Sometimes its the equivalent of turning it off and on again or resetting the box to get the gremlins squashed.

Yeah exactly - that's why I published. If you ask me, things like amplifiers are getting far more complicated than they need to be. I mean, we had perfectly good (and powerful) completely analog HiFi amplifiers back in the day without all this digital shenanigans and they sounded great.... actually no, in fact they sounded *better* than these things😋

@@LearnElectronicsRepair seems to be a common fault, I have an avrx1000 with no sound output after being stored for a few months. Tried factory reset.
All modern stuff mutes if there is no antenna.
More like magic touch.

I have denon avr 4520 and no audio from all digital inputs. Stereo direct from analog in works. Does anybody know where Can i Look for problem?
