In this healing nervous system restorative yoga class we focus on the healing power of support through self-regulation. In this class, we create the conditions for support and nervous system healing with the wall. The wall and the earth together are the foundations that will invite deeper nervous system healing. When we find ourselves fully supported by props, such as the strap and the wall, a co-regulated relationship with ourselves emerges. This class invites you into a nervous system healing protocol that offers an easy step by step process for healing.

    Thank you Melissa!! This practice was immensely comforting and exactly what I needed this morning. Quick note on the figure 4 stretch: I had to push my hips back from the wall in order to get my foot flat on the wall, and on my tighter side (it felt too intense) I had to keep my other leg straight. I think I need to take more time to relax my outer hips. I will seek to support myself off the mat by having intentional connections with my loved ones. Thank you again for a deeply nourishing practice, I feel supported! Namaste 🙏😌💛

    @@drmelissawest no... when the female singer is mouth breathing chest heaving after concert in exhaustion. do you have video of how to ground breathing from that kind of state? up regulation breathing then down? can i also ask if you've heard of breathing can be sexy tantric in this way?

    What a fascinating class Melissa , thankyou so much for all your knowledge and experience ,putting this unique yin session together . I did use a pillow under my hips for most of the class as I’d just got home from Bushcare (locals volunteer in their area to maintain endemic species , weeding etc) so hips were sore and stiff but by the end of class fascia had released. .bless you Mesissa for all you do for us ! You spread peace to the world 💓🫶🏻

    Thank you Melissa for this calming, soothing trauma informed class! I used a pillow under my thighs and knees when doing 1/2 happy baby and it felt lovely with this extra support. Namaste!

    Loved this class! Curious how I could avoid low back pain that happens when I keep my legs up for too long? I pretty much had to throw in a child’s pose between each one... would using a chair instead help. Not sure why this happens 🙏🖤

    There's a multitude of reasons, too much to get into here. You can keep back pain from happening by using a chair instead of a wall or keeping your knees bent and feet flat against the wall instead. Also great idea to break inbetween.

    This happened to me postpartum from weakness in the si joint . I rolled up a towel and placed it under my sacrum and it helped alot . Also try not to overextend the knees . Keep a little bend in the knees and move your bum further away from the wall to give. This helped me alot.
