Lego Battle of the Bulge - World War II Stopmotion
In honor of the 76th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge
On December 16, 1944, the Germans launched their last major counteroffensive of the Second World War. After planning for months, the Germans took advantage of a large winter storm to mount their assault, through which they planned to reach the Belgian port of Antwerp. At 5:00 A.M on the 16th, the Germans started bombarding the American line along the Ardennes Forest in Belgium. Fresh with new and inexperienced soldiers, the American line was quickly penetrated. The Germans attacked in massive numbers with tanks, soldiers, and other military vehicles. Within two days, they advanced past the forest and into the surrounding towns, including Stavelot, St. Vith, Schnee Eifel, and Malmedy. The following week involved intense fighting in the towns with fierce resistance from the American forces. One week later, on December 20, the 101st Airborne Division became completely surrounded by German forces in the town of Bastogne. The Allied Commanders, realizing the severity of the situation, tasked Patton’s Third Army with relieving the 101st. After intense fighting over the next week, the US 4th Armored Division of Patton’s Third Army arrived in Bastogne, alleviating the battered 101st Airborne Division and driving back the German Army. Unable to retaliate, the exhausted German forces retreated back into Germany. By the end of January, all traces of the counteroffensive were erased. Only three months after the conclusion of the Battle of the Bulge, the remaining Germans surrendered on May 8, 1945, officially ending the Second World War in Europe.
We did not include some aspects of this battle. This was not intended to offend or diminish the importance of the events that took place but was rather a creative choice we made.

One of the greatest military communications in the history or ever; "Nuts!"
I really like two things about this film: 1) *It doesn't have music* Real battle is not like in videogame. You don't hear any beatiful music motivating soldiers to fight, you only hear gunshots, orders and wounded soldiers begging for help, and that's exactly what we hear right now. 2) *Both sides take damage* Battle is not like in action movie - it's not that these good ones shoot perfectly, while the others literally don't know how to fight. That's what this film shows - in Battle of Bulge some Germans died, even though they won the battle. The same goes for every other battle as well. Both make it very realistic and actually show the gray reality of WW2. Let's hope this nightmare never accures in real life.

Thanks for your feedback! Yes - we make these videos paying respect and homage to the soldiers who fought and with hope that nothing ever happens like it again.
Sincerest gratitude for your honorable mention of the 761st. All they wanted was no less than what the Men of Tuskegee wanted: a fighting chance.
Near around 8:58, the American Commander really did say ‘NUTS’ and that was what was sent back to the confused Germans.
@starzkream
3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, the "NUTS" response never made it past the courier. The courier read it, and since he isn't from America, the phrase "NUTS" made no sense. It would have been like us asking the Germans for surrender, and they responded with "APPLES". The courier asked the Americans for clarification as to what it meant. They said, "It means 'No'." , which is the message that actually got back to the German commander.

HOLY SMOKES! THAT HAS TO BE THE MOST ACCURATE MOVIE ON THE ARDENNES OFFENSIVE IN LEGO or any other medium! You even put Hollywood to shame. Having done a fair amount of reading of the European Theater i was impressed with how you managed to convey the breadth and depth of the German offensive against the U.S. forces. I enjoyed immensely seeing my favorite panzers such as the Panther, Tiger I, Koenigs Tiger, PzIV along with the various assault guns and tank destroyers in the German line up. Nice to see you using the Nebelwerfer in the movie as well. Very impressed with you utilizing the African American 761st tank battalion, one of the very few minority combat units in the ETO. If i could, you should get a gold Oscar but for now you get a like and this comment! Well done!!
