Operation Torch: North African Campaign - Lego World War II Stopmotion [4K]
Фильм және анимация
On November 8, 1942, over 100,000 Anglo-American troops landed in three major ports throughout Vichy-France occupied North Africa. With the support of British and American warships bombarding the coast, the Allied troops managed to defeat the stubborn Vichy-French resistance. With the ports secured and the French troops defeated, Allied commanders forced Vichy Commander Admiral Darlan to call a cease-fire in North Africa. From there, the Allies would fight their way across North Africa and back into the heart of Europe. Although Operation Torch fell short of expectations, it gave Allied commanders invaluable experience for further operations. The events that transpired in early November of 1942 would heavily influence and ensure success of the invasion on D-Day, a year and a half later.

I'm so speechless rn. Safe to say you did us, North Africa animators, proud. I don't think I've ever seen a video where Vichy soldiers are shown. Everything was outstanding from minifigures, lightning, scenarios and weapons. Maybe just the special effects of guns where a bit off for me but hey maybe it's just me. 10/10.
Impressive work, the detailed set design as well as the ships were top notch. Well done and keep up the good work!

Hi
Finally someone who really learned history about the north African campaign! Whenever it's about the north African campaign, it just barley includes the Italians or Vichy French army, only focusing on the Germans, but you sir, you finally did everything right about it! Sorry I am terrible at explaining 😅

I know the Vichy French are not known at all and it’s weird to think about in the sense that these french colonies attacked us

Nice work man. Love the use of different vehicles and sets. The lighting was realistic and the animation was smooth. The only complaints I’d have are minor issues such as the sound for the ship at the start being strange it sounded more like someone splashing their hands in water. Either than that the vfx were incredible and the overal diversity of practical and visual effects with the realistic setting made this one of the best LEGO World War Two brickfilms ive seen in a long time. Good job

Thanks! Yes, our goal with these films is not to glorify or romanticize war, but rather to show the horrible reality, while simultaneously teaching the history behind these battles in an engaging way.
Very few, if any Lego WW2 Animators, ever featured Vichy France soldiers. So this is an incredible rarity!

This is truely awsome, and one of its kind.
You simply never hear anything about the Vichy French in North Africa or Syria. Great research was put into this. If only we could see something new like this in video games these days. Great job👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊😊😊

SUPER !

Good job!
As a historian with a specialty of WWII, I can reflect on a few things I saw that were a little incorrect. . . . 1) With Casablanca, the gunnery was a tad incorrect. The big guns that fired back at the American ships were not so much as coastal guns, but the 15-inch guns of the drydocked French battleship Jean Bart. And contrary to the images of the American battleships taking damage from the guns, only one American battleship got in a duel with Jean Bart - USS Alabama. Only one shot from Jean Bart struck Alabama, and it basically disintegrated on the turret front. 2) I would hate to break it to you, but the Renault FT-17 was not used by the Vichy French in North Africa. It was proven too obsolete after the Fall of France in 1940, so only the Renault R35 was used in Morocco. And it wasn’t in the middle of Safi itself when they attacked. It was outside to the east: 30x Renault R35’s attacked the Americans who had 5x M5 Stuart’s, and the thing that saved the American G.I.’s was the big 152mm guns of the US Navy cruisers like USS Augusta. For information on this, please watch the series Patton 360. This explains it a lot.
Nice job
this is something i could only dream of
