You know what really makes it sad? Is that even attacked by poisonous gas, the Russians refused to retreat and rose back up to fight. This was probably the best act of bravery I have heard from WWI.

i don't know the 308 battle at argonne was pretty intense as well yes the russians were gassed and fought back the 308 fought for 6 days attacked on all sides by not just the german but also suffering friendly fire and shelling and refused to surrender the german comander sent a request to the allies to order the men to surrender so the slaughter could end

This was probably my favorite battle in history! Man the amount of courage and loyalty to their country the Russians must've had in order for them to charge even when they were dying! This was awesome! Great job!👍
