Scone Palace garden fair to escape the garden chores

We're up in Perth this week having fun at Scotland's premiere garden weekend, Scone Palace garden Fair, having fun and chilling with our friends.
The gimbal is out and misbehaving as usual as we just relax and appreciate a garden where we aren't responsible for the chores.
A beautiful June day in Scotland.

A scorching 21C ? We get over 40C days occasionally here. The highest was over 46C. It's winter now so we only got up to 17C today. But I have spent time in Scotland as a youngster and don't remember ever seeing the sun. So horses for courses I guess.😊

What a lovely video. Visiting Scotland and the rest of the UK is high on my must do list. Now I know when I want to go, end of May for all the garden shows. Even though I live in the PNW (Pacific Northwest of the US), my growing conditions are similar to yours, I watch a lot of UK gardeners. I hope to meet you at a show in a couple of years, my husband and I are planning a big trip for our 50th birthdays. Now to convince him garden shows are what he wants to do, maybe I'll throw in a bit of whisky tasting to sweeten the deal. Also, I need to move my rhubarb into more sun, I think that is why it's struggling. I too way overwatered it in the big pot.

Now I can pronounce "scones" like the Scots do. Chains on hanging baskets are a whole world of their own. We're going to have 25°C later this week. At least it's not the "heat dome" like 3 years ago with 30°C for 5 days. 600 people died.

@@eliandkate Isn't Scone Castle or "Old Scone" where Brian is the head gardener? I know him from watching him as a presenter on "Beechgrove Garden" on BritBox. You are so lucky to get to visit a historic and beautiful garden like that. He seems like a genuinely nice man. I'll be in Edinburgh in November for two weeks. We will be taking Rabbie's tours some days, a 3 day tour to Skye and be there to enjoy the holiday decorations. It is an expensive time to visit, but we decided we just had to do it.

it is indeed Bud. You'll see Brian in the snaps with us. He is indeed a lovely guy and has all the time in the world to talk gardening with folks. Unfortunately there's never a cheap time to visit Edinburgh but November will be a lot cheaper than August when the festival takes over the city. I always tell folk to avoid Edinburgh during the festival unless you are coming specifically for that. It's horrendous during it, overcrowded, the prices are all bumped up in all the local businesses and generally it's just unpleasant to be in the city. We avoid going into Edinburgh during it if we can.
