Your reason now is being infatuted with Kim. You would find there are at least 5% French words in Dutch although it is called a cousin of German with shamelessly loaned English words. Dutch sure is not the hallmark of originality But then French and English share words between the two shamelessly too.

@@markjasper1127 well it’s different but for me dutch is easier than french and german, and dutch has 60% vocabulary in common with english so you’ll see dutch will be more understandable. Anyways good luck with the french

Thank you so much! I'm studying abroad in Belgium this summer, so I wanted to learn some Dutch and maybe some French, but I wasn't sure where to start. You're a lifesaver!

I've lived in the Netherlands for more than a year. I used language apps but with not a lot of success. I was getting a haircut today and the barber - Iraqi who lived in Germany and moved to Netherlands a year ago- told me to check out Dutch YT lessons. I somehow never thought to have a look on YT. And now here I am :)

I've been wanting to learn some dutch for a long time, even though it's categorized as one of the most difficult languages of the germanic family, it's time to face the challenge. Visited the Netherlands numerous times and spoke to the locals in English but the next time surely I'll be able to greet someone in this beautiful language! Finally a beginners course! Thank you Kim for the time you spent making these series of videos and generosity for uploading them for free!

This is cool. I have some Dutch heritage, my grandfather Herman Arjen Postma came from the Netherlands to Canada before the second world war, and my father was born in Canada, and never learned much Dutch.

Hi Kim, let's start to skill in dutch. I'm also french native (like other viewers) but I do speak German and English. Perhaps it's gonna be easier. let's check it out :) What about motivation ? a new language, perhaps understanding more efficiently what favorites band mates (delain our WT as example) say in conversation :) And may be challenge belgian friends in Dutch

I used to be able to speak dutch fluently when i was younger but unfortunately lost the ability once i moved away to a country that doesn't speak dutch when i was very young, hopefully I'll be able to speak it once more!
