The Problem with Carolina right now is they Have approx 12.5M in usable cap space. That sounds like alot but they still have to sign Jarvis. You have to assume Jarvis will land somewhere in the 7-7.5M x8 , Leaving them with only 5M left. They dont have room for a 6M guy rn. in order to do that they would need to Dump some cap. They only guy I could see that could do that for them in Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov would have to go back the other way in any Ehlers trade.

They won't be carrying 3 goalies, or 8 defence. They have 2 mill and need 2 forwards, Cowan is 905k, and Minten is 817k. So unless Robertson signes for 1.1 mill, we need to trade someone.

Cowan and Minten will not be on the Leafs so their contracts do not count against the cap.

@johnsummerhill8323 at least one of them should, there is nothing for Cowan to learn in the OHL, and Minten got a taste last year. This is the year we are going to hurt because of the cap and need to use these cheap options.

@@loosemoose7584 They are not ready. It will do more damage to their careers to have them play before they should. Cowan still has to learn about the defensive side of the game. Neither showed much at the World JR tournament which is a telltale sign they are not ready. But they will contribute someday for sure. There are other options for the Leafs than having them play this year.

Just discovered the Cap. Lol oh they have 10 defenseman not 8. It's 11 forwards, 10 defenseman and 3 goalies.

I dont think Carolina needs another top 4 defenceman. They have a decent defence core. I believe it will be more of a defence by committee this year rather then being carried by Pesce,Slavin, Orlov. They have Slavin,Walker Orlov. Burns Ghost,Chateild thats a decent Dcore to me.. I think they will use Ghost as their PP quarterback. Walker Slavin or Orlov , Walker as PK.

As and Islanders fan, I'd be willing to move on from Pelech and Wahlstrom

Dewar is getting better press than his true worth. He's really not that good. Pass on him. Robertson is a much better player and he's on the outs.

I agree dont want dewar he was just ok for me , id rather give any marlie guy a shot maybe cowan maybe minton , we will see what happens

I grade trelivng moves an F-. Leafs wont get 40 wins. Hooe they have their own 1st

I can't see jarnkrok or kampf going anywhere since they are 2 of the biggest pkers on the team

Kempf Robetston Lilijgren but need to see what is happening with Hannkapa .

Couple thoughts: Dewar is from Manitoba, Robertson is looking for top 6 time. If Ehlers is dealt for Necas. Robertson, Dewar, Timmins (some combination) for McGroaty? Leafs run this lineup. Domi - Matthews - Marner Knies - Tavares - Nylander McGroaty - Holmberg - McMann Steeves - Kampf - Jarnkrok Reaves Rielly - Tanev Benoit - Mccabe OEL - Liljegren Hakanpaa Woll Stolarz

Why wouldnt the leafs just waive Murray clear 875k and have 925k to sign a 3rd line LW?

@@independentont I think you misunderstood what i was saying. If you remember last year. Toronto waived Jones as well to send him down to the AHL. They dont need to carry 3 goalies on the roster all year. And theres no chance murray gets claimed.

Connor Timmins is a 6'2" RHD who makes 1.1 mil per year and does nothing but win. He seems like he will be a 30-40 point defenseman so why is everyone trying to get rid of him? He understands how to play defense and doesn't run around like an idiot getting out of position trying to hit everything on the ice. Maybe give the kid a chance because we can actually afford him and move out a player like McCabe who we not be able to after his next contract with nothing retained. This is why the Leafs suck. Everyone wants all the expensive players and they can't live with the players we can actually afford.

I've graded Tre's moves at E-...so far. Another early exit.

Tavares+Reilly= Early playoff exit. Lose Jarnkrok+ Kampf and add Robertson-Minten-Cowan as the most productive n dangerous 3rd line in the league.
