Kit Vila you should check the qualifications first before stating that Regine is qualified to become a National Artist. The only persons I know that deserve the national Artist award is Lea Salonga, Nora Aunor & Jose Marie Chan.

@@rj_rj4336 Though the 2018 production did receive the Tony for Best Revival, the award itself goes to the producers and does not count as an official win for any of the performers, Lea Salonga included.

I can clearly hear the words even when she reaches the high notes.

2:41 she literally used her entire upper body for that deep breath she had to take in order to sustain that long ass note that was about to come out of her mouth! She is such a technical goddess and a living legend in her own right!

When I saw allegiance last fall I cried as soon as she came on stage. Besides the fact that we all grew up with her beautiful voice she has this presence on stage like no other it's almost overwhelming in such a small theater. It could have been just me being absolutely star struck but I didn't feel this way when I saw Daniel Radcliffe or lance bass on Broadway lol so it's definitely her and her amazing voice and presence I hope she is at least nominated for this role because she was magical!!

My eyes watery when I saw her thank the audience with grace n stars in her eyes after The Sweetney Todd show. I wanted to say, it should be us who should thank her for sharing the talent with us :) Not just star struck hahaha, maybe me too? But, there's something in her voice and eyes (not just a good voice) that strikes people. She just came out and lit the stage..... so grateful to have watched a live show of hers in Dec 19, before Covid and all happened.

She truly is one of the most talented women around. Tony nomination (at least) for this lady, please!

I think Allegiance’s composers rearranged this song when they heard that THE Lea Salonga is casted. This was recreated specifically to match Lea’s musical dynamics. It fits her her so well.

I would kill for that voice! So pure and clear as a crystal. Lea is QUEEN

Her mix is so incredible. I think it really sets her apart from other stars. She has such a good mix of chest and head!

oh my God. She's so perfect. I'm speechless. Her voice is lovely. Full of emotions. Versatile voice.

I don't know how people cannot fall in love with this song. First heard it, I found it charming, then listened to it a few more times...just grew in me. It's poignant yet positive. The way Lea sang it brought new meaning every time I listened to it. Her phrasing of each words are deliberate.

It's amazing how I understand every single word she sang without English subtitles needed. Her diction is so crystal clear.

2 decade has gone by and its Amazing she still have that youthful & angelic voice that the whole world fell in love it. with that voice and a little touch of make up here & there, she can still audition for kim and make the other kim wannabe's run for their money.

Glorious! I am looking very forward to seeing this show. Just imagine a full orchestra behind that voice.... Glorious!

I just saw this musical and Lea Salonga was FANTASTIC! I can't believe that I got the chance to see a real legend live on a broadway stage! Allegiance is worth seeing. So go see it!

Even though my attention gets diverted towards the more popular "queens of Broadway," I always end up coming back to Miss Lea, and always end up absolutely awestruck. Her performance as Fantine had me fall in love with her the first time, and here I am again. Absolutely in love.

AMAZING!!! Lea's performance is worthy of a Tony. She deserves a Tony not because of her execution, nor her excellent technique, but imagine Lea at age 20, in 1991, winning her first Tony, & now at age 44, Lea continues to push the boundaries in musical-theater-excellence. Lea should definitely be nominated for her current role in Allegiance, rather, a Tony should be awarded to this amazing performer who has from age 20 to 44, continues to share with the world, many musical performances which has touched so many...from her stellar voice.

I was crying last night when I learned that she was not nominated for Tony's. It broke my heart.

It's a very competitive year for that category, and sadly ALLEGIANCE didn't get a single nomination, I think (please, anyone, correct me if that's wrong). I don't get to see any of the shows, so can't judge anything beyond what can be gleaned from recordings, videos, TV appearances, reading, and hearing other peoples' reports and opinions. I was very sad for this show to have so little success, and would love to see a production of it.

I saw this show and I couldn't stop crying. Lea's performance is absolutely flawless and she was very nice at the stage door.

Crystal clear vocals!! Pitch perfect! Beautiful stage presence! Lea's is the best!1

As someone who’s half filipino, I was raised on Lea. My mom said she saw her perform in the Philippines when she was younger and they made eye contact. Apart from Lea’s exceptional acting, her technique is pretty damn impeccable. And the fact that she has maintained her vocal integrity all these years??? Legend shit

Had the opportunity to watch this show here in San Diego about 2 years ago. It was my first time seeing Lea Salonga live and It was just magical. I guess I have another reason to visit NY again!!

2 years ago I got to meet her after I saw Allegiance, and honestly she's the kindest and one of the most empowering women I know and she still inspires me so much. I'm so glad I got to thank her for this performance :)

Probably her best performance of this song yet! Lea still has the "Miss Saigon" fire in her!

OMG AGELESS CRYSTAL CLEAR VOCAL AND INTELLIGIBLE DICTION IN EVERY SINGLE WORD! NO OTHER BROADWAY DIVA HAS SURPASSED, NOR HAS OUTLASTED THE DISNEY AND BROADWAY DIVA LEA SALONGA! ALMOST ALL OF HER CONTEMPORARIES DIED OUT, BUT HERE SHE STILL PLAYS AN ORIGINAL LEAD ROLE! TRULY ICONIC. HER VOICE IS SO YOUTHFUL.

I'm going to see her in this soon and I'm going to be first in line for the stage door. When I meet her, I swear I'm going to cry.

The beauty of this song is in its simplicity, sung in an emotional, beautiful and powerful way by Lea. As good as this clip is, seeing it live is much, much better, especially after witnessing what the character goes through before this moment. I've seen the show three times. Each time the audience's response was rapturous!

She makes the best vibrato, always crisp, clear, sweet, natural and smooth.

The vocal control of Lea is out of this world.
