There is NO reason why this beautiful and talented woman isn't more famous than this. I cannot think of many women that can sing as well as this woman. The control and power of her voice is breathtaking!

It is because shecan actually sing. She also picks great material. And she doesn’t autotune the crap that passes for music these days. Could be her jazz background since you have to actually sing to carry that off. She carries it off...magnificently!

When I was young many, many decades ago involved with the music world..Not the best were always chosen.. Politics ruled.. Talent was important BUT.. Looks and presentation also.. Now anyone can get recognition in this new world.. And seen certain people got "signed "on just so they couldn't compete with other up and coming stars..

Mr. Clapton, you may have written this song. But MORGAN is the lady who knows how to sing it! Bravo!

Morgan James is one of this era's best singers. And she can sing in so many styles, with so much soul.

Back after 6 years, still one of the best musical discoveries I have made on KZread.

Morgan is a living jukebox. She can sing anything, and sing it perfectly.

Postmodern Jukebox got my attention to what this phenomenal woman could do vocally, and I have been captivated ever since!

I really don't understand how Morgan hasn't become more mainstream. I've been following her for years. Love her work with Postmodern Jukebox. Their channel is where I first heard her and I've been hooked ever since.

Just got back from seeing her live. WOW! Just plain WOW! I will see her every time she returns. Man I love the small venue.

Effortless? Huh? Have you got any idea on how many hours a week one does need to work "so hard" in order to achieve and then maintain a certain level? Even one's whole life have to be oriented to that single aspect of their life. One cannot even eat what one wants. In my (humble) experience, nothing has ever been achieved by sheer talent. It's there or not. Yet it's just the start... It's kinda like that famous 5 minutes plus years story... - How can you charge such steep a price for such a tiny job! It took only 5 minutes of your time. - 5 minutes plus 40 years buddy ;) On the other hand, I hear what you mean, and still I don't agree. Not effortless at all... She's living in another dimension while singing, how can that be effortless :D

I love how Morgan can cover a classic song from a legendary artist and just make it her own version with a slight rearrangement of the track but most of all, the powerful delivery of her voice and her great talent. Amazing talent, hope to see you perform again (in Montreal).

Same here. I think she must do her own choreography on the songs she covers cuz she hits the nail on the head so hard that she drives it home with ease. She sings as if she grew up in the blues bars in New Oeans! This girl is just awesome to listen to. I love hearing nobody's cover the best music and she didnt cover it she remade it all over again! With those who cover the music you can pick out the areas that stand out as faults in your mind and then you can decide how you would do it differently. Very hard to do with her covering the song cuz she's already done the mixture of choreography, slowed up or sped up the beat where she needs it, and alters just enough of the notes to make the song her own. To me that is sheer perfection.

I listen to this almost everyday. It's one of my favorite Morgan James covers.

I'm loving the CLEAR respect this lady has for the classics! She feels that soul just as powerfully as she belts em on out! GREAT use for a GREAT voice! Thank you!!!

WOW! A GREAT BIG WOW! Just love how Morgan can take a song that was never a special song to me. And make it a special song to me. It’s not like I never liked the song lay down Sally. But I never saw anything special about it. Until now.

The quality and brilliance of Morgan James is something to behold. Beautiful light and shade, with a soulful richness that utterly captivates. I have listened to this cover more times than I care to remember, and I am always astounded at her talent. This is what young people wanting to be singers should be aspiring to, as her technique is excellent, with such crisp notes, superbly controlled power tethered with a soft, delicate smoothness that all comes together to form one of the most unique, exceptional voices I have heard in many years. I've seen this hundreds of times now, it never fails to blow me away. I'm zoned in on Doug's playing try to figure out how to play it in this style. Mind you I said "play" not sing, as that would be impossible.

Such an amazing voice! The first time I saw Morgan perform live I was in awe!

Besides Morgan's beautiful voice and talent is that all original musical instruments; no techno. The old styles.

I would love to know what Mr Clapton thinks of this. The power and purity of her voice.....

I've just discovered JPM and I'm in love with them and James. But I will say that this is the first one I've seen that wasn't in one cut. That's one of the things I found so amazing about them.... they haven't pieced together 50 cuts to make a song. That's why I was a bit disappointed to see the camera move and then 2:14 is just jarring. I know I'm late the party and this video was made 5 years ago... but maybe we can go into our way-back machine and redo this one? Now I've realized that this is James... so I guess she's got their own thing going...

Another great song. I really hate coming to Morgan's channel, because I know I'll be here for about an hour...listening to new stuff...revisiting favorites (including her work with PMJ). Yep, another hour hour gone listening to my favorite vocalist. She REALLY needs a Dallas tour. And, kudos to another excellent Dunlap/Wamble arrangement. These guys know how to showcase her talent without over-powering her with the instruments.

I found PMJ just a couple of days ago. Love the concept and the musicians. Compliments to Scott Bradlee. Great singers like Haley Reinhart, Casey Abrams and Morgan James. Love her version of LSD, oh sorry, LDS, and the way she curls her toes around the top cover of the piano.

I am a HUGE Clapton fan and usually cringe at covers, especially re-arranged versions, but this is pretty bad ass I must say! Jazzy and funky and soulful. Well done!

Morgan such a powerful and brilliant vocalist. A joy to listen to and lift my spirits. Maybe God does exist. 😊

There are two ladies with whom I have a crush because of their passion on music. Morgan James is one of them. Her voice is charming and powerful. It 's always a delight for me listening to her as she sings. She does magic with her voice. The other girl is Samantha Fish, who is a solid blues guitarist and singer. When I listen to Samantha singing and playing I cannot avoid thinking of Janis Joplin. Samantha is as passionate as Janis was. Pity that neither Morgan nor Samantha have achieved the success they deserve.
