    I was using the Ordinary lash serum and it was really hard not to let it get into my eyes, i ended up getting dry eyes, (likely due to the serum, as it was the only change in my routine). My eyes were so bloodshot and uncomfortable. Thankfully my dry eyes are better since stopping the serum and medicated eye drops and eye balm, and it took 2 months for my eyes to look and feel normal again. I will only use this for my brows, but not on or around my lashes.

    Same here! I have Sjogren's Syndrome, so anything that even might increase dryness is not worth the risk to me. I also notice that some lash serums have benzalkonium chloride as a preservative, and that's super irritating to my clinically dry eyes.

    To quote Back to the Future, “this is heavy.” I 💜 the commitment to the trials of different brands. (over 3 years 👏) I have received an offer from Latisse, but I definitely wanted more information. I do think that it's very interesting to include peptides in formulas, but I would like specific callouts for each peptide in regard to function. I think the benefit does not outweigh the risk for me. I have long curly lashes so I just focus on health from within. ✨ Thanks for sharing! ✨

What I did get was a little bit of increase in thickness at the corners of my eyes where I had lost eyelashes now that I’m 60. I just mainly feel like it keeps my eyelashes healthy, and I lose far fewer than I did before I started using it.

    I've used prostaglandins to manage my glaucoma for a few years. They did make my bottom lashes longer and make lashes grow around my tear duct too, but I had to switch to a different medication after a few years because I developed an intolerance to them. My eye doctor said that's fairly common too, they are indeed known to be irritating.

  • @Criticalbeauty411
    @Criticalbeauty41110 ай бұрын

    I was so disappointed when I got a sample of one of these w prostaglandins and I immediately had a reaction. My lash line became swollen and red and after 24 hours I looked like I had gotten stung by a bee lol I guess the only silver lining is that I was fortunate enough to get a sample and I didn’t have to purchase it! I really wanted it to work for me because I’m terrible at applying falsies. this was really helpful in pointing out that it’s not really as great as it sounds long-term! (Another thing that’s fortunate is false lashes have gotten easier to apply!) i’m also so grateful to finally hear a review of the Olaplex!!!!! Looking at it I couldn’t justify spending the money without at least hearing people talk about it first because, like you said it’s not like hair I really didn’t know what something like this would do for my lashes! Anyway, another really fantastic video. Thank you so much for explaining all of this!

    My experience with The Ordinary serum and the one from Romand (Han All Lash Serum): I lost a chunk of lashes a few months ago. I was just curling my lashes one day and a whole half inch section just decided to jettison off my eyelid. No pain, no excessive pulling, no warning. So I started to use the Romand lash serum directly on my lashes and The Ordinary serum on my lash line and, while they may have helped somewhat with regrowth, the biggest thing I've noticed is much less fallout, especially when I curl my lashes. I was never expecting them to give me longer darker lashes but, like you mentioned, the lashes I do have "feel" healthier.

    I always had nice eyelashes until the "big m" (menopause) struck and I found myself with diddly little stumps. After all the other symptoms this was the final straw. I wasn't having it! I've been using Revitalash since February and love my lashes again. I do get the occasional flare up of reaction every now and then but i think it's getting less as I get used to it. I'd say I've lost some fat from above my eyes but in my case that's not such a bad thing because I have hooded eyes and the hoodedness seems less. I dont think I'll ever stop using Revitalash and I'll sleep on the street before I give it up! 😂 Anyway, the best thing of all - I was worried about getting ripped off and the product not working. I stated doing research online and indirectly found you!! Hurrah! ❤❤❤ Kind of hoping The Ordinary hair peptide stuff restores my thinning hair... one can but hope... sigh.

One of the many articles I read spoke with an ophthalmologist, and they did say there may be an unspoken benefit thus far for hooded lids! Granted, it’s still important to watch for inflammation (do you think it might be that in the act of getting used to it, you managed the application better? Meaning could it be a dose-dependent sensitivity?)

    I will never use another lash serum, no matter what ingredients. I had mutant lashes growing in weird places! I used a faux-high end (high retail price but unknown brand, popular with subscription boxes, prob just intended to be drugstore price point) lash serum from ipsy, whose ingredients indicated it was just an oil moisturizer. I have too many lashes but it's not cute (2-3 lines of them, and many go in weird directions, they always hook my lower lashes or poke my eye), but i figured it would make a nice moisturizer for my eye area. Oh my! I grew two bizarre lashes, one noticeably higher than my lash line, the other eyelash GREW UNDER THE TOP LAYER OF MY SKIN. Fortunately, both 'died' and went away after i threw it out. I dont know what was really in that serum, but i am now very suspicious of all of them.

    That’s so interesting that you mentioned The Ordinary might not do much if you don’t need it, because I’ve observed the same thing. I used Ordinary on my lashes for several months and it made my lower lashes, which were always kind of sparse, noticeably filled in and longer. But it didn’t make a noticeable difference to my upper lashes, which were already decently long/dense. Ordinary has worked amazingly well on my brows too. As for Grande, I used it on my brows for probably a year and it didn’t seem to do anything. However I’ve been using GrandeLash on my lashes for a few months and I see noticeable results on both my upper and lower lashes. I haven’t had any irritation or odd hair growth yet. I have dry eyes but neither serum has seemed to make it any worse. Even though I love having longer lashes, I’ve decided that once I finish this tube of GrandeLash I’m going to stop using any lash serum because I’m worried about long term side effects around my eyes. My upper lashes are naturally decent and I work from home so no one is around to enjoy my long lashes with me anyway. However, I will keep using Ordinary on my brows.

    I accidentally discovered a brow product that works with no side effects on me--the Bare Minerals Strength and Length brow gel, which has a combo of Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 and Red Clover extract (together known as Capixyl in the trade). I got the gel because Lisa Eldridge recommended it as a good brow gel, and 2 months later I looked in the mirror and couldn't tell whether I'd filled in my brows or not! My brows were not thicker than they'd ever been, mind you, just thicker than they were--say, they went back in time about a decade's worth? Also, I'd started getting a few hairs with no color, like platinum/silver, and I no longer have those; my old color is restored for some reason. I assume the pale hairs reached the end of their lives, fell out, and the replacements grew back with color (which on me is red/blonde/light brown--redheads don't have solid red brows!) I tried their mascara from the same Strength and Length line, and while it was non-irritating, I noticed no difference in my lashes. I don't wear mascara every day anymore though, so that could be it.

    I used Babe Lash (another prostaglandin-analog serum) for 3-4 months last year, and did see significant results. I was a little unsettled by the reports of side effects, and I already have eye issues - contact wearer, seasonal allergies, chronic dry eye (treated with prescription drops) - so I decided not to continue it despite the fact that I hadn't had any side effects. I decided to try The Ordinary's serum instead, and it didn't work miracles, but it seemed to help me retain the lash fullness I got from the other serum. My eyes have been really irritated this summer (probably from the Canadian wildfires 😥), so I haven't used the serum regularly in months, and honestly, I haven't noticed that much of a difference. I'm easing into using it again, mainly just to see if it does anything, but Lash Princess is a safer bet, right?

    Perfect timing … I was just thinking of buying this …wow … it’s a no ! thank you a million … I was noticing my eyebrows falling out I think I got my retinol too close I put my tretnoin on my upper eyelid on accident it was burning 🥵 idk I just started that CosRx peptide serum I’m like what in that would cause my eyebrows to fall out 🤣 I hope it stops I have super over plucked brows that don’t grow in anyway … how would these make hair grow? Do they do that? I was gonna try castor oil maybe … any advice 🤍🤍🤍🍀🍀🍀🪴🪴🪴

    Hmm so you’re thinking the tret could be correlating with brow loss? I’ve heard a few people report that, although I’m not sure on where that stands from a research perspective. What you could do is: apply Vaseline around your brows before the tret. That might help by preventing absorption (same principle in applying Vaseline to sensitive areas pre-retinoid). It’s a good idea to check with your doctor too. Hair loss is a sign that something is off, but the cause can be one of MANY different reasons.

I’m so upset to see they changed it lol haven’t tried the new one I almost don’t want too because the old one is just so perfect already. If you tried it what’re your thoughts ?? If not are you planning on it? Also love this video !! Don’t know too much about lash serums people always told me (with mascara) my lashes look pretty long but I used to wear false lashes so I never thought my lashes were as long as I always wanted them to be.

    Yes it worked for my friend, she just removed her eye make up with castor oil for years and got huge lashes. It just takes twice as long, atleast 4 months to see some results, but people who has used for years they have really thick and long lashes + skin around the eyes are smooth.

    If it’s unopened it makeup and skincare is for a while. The expiration date is good how ever many months it says it’s good upon the day of opening the product which lets bacteria and air into the product thus making it go bad faster theoretically. But if it smells bad of off throw it out.

When I heard Lisa from Lisa Monique beauty saying she uses grande lash and doesn't mind the darking around eyes and brows I was nope! I have dark circles from being a celiac and crohns and milk allergy that I hate I was nope don't want that. I watched James Welch do a video on this too, that was enough too for me to pass.

    SHARING FACTS. Prostaglandin free lash serums are a waist of time because it doesn't prevent the lash fall out phase which is something you can't prevent. It's just something that naturally happens to everyone. In order to prevent your lashes from falling out and to keep your new long lash growth results. You need a lash serum that has a prostaglandin in it. Prostaglandins prevent the lash fall out phase!

  • @AliceintheRabbitHole

    @AliceintheRabbitHole

    10 ай бұрын

    Hmm I think you might be thinking of growth factor peptides? Those are purported to be mitogenic, not mutagenic - meaning they may facilitate tissue growth (hence the name), but they don’t cause mutations (ie the development of cancer). That said, as a precaution, it’s recommended not to use growth factors if you have or suspect you may have skin cancer. Hope that helps!

    So I just want to make a couple of points. If you are still unsure about how you feel about these, let me tell you a little story; I had been using the babe lash growth serum and really didn't have any issues with it but hated the fact that I had to keep using it and I read that the ordinary lash serum was healthier because it only uses peptides. Well one day I was in a huge rush and I applied my lash serum. I noticed within a couple hours my I was extremely irritated and I had remembered that earlier I had experienced some weird discoloration in my eye. At that point I should have rinsed my eyes. Long story short the next morning at 5 a.m. I woke up at in such extreme discomfort that I started crying and moaning. I couldn't close my eyes or keep them open because of the pain. Thank God I was able to get someone in my house to help me. I woke up my mom and she took me to the emergency room. They ended up saying am I was extremely irritated. LOL, no s***. They gave me some steroid eye drops and within 30 minutes I started to feel better. I am sending the ordinary the bill for this. Apparently I'm not the only one that has had issues with the serum. I still have a huge red mark in my eye that you would take me from time to time. I will say that babe lash worked pretty well for me. I also didn't have much irritation from it.
