Lyrics:
I always wondered how I'd live without you
If you ever said goodbye
Would I just live in dreams about you
With tears in my eyes
Would I fall to pieces when you go
I always wondered how I'd live without you
Now I know
I'm doing alright
I'm strong enough to make it on my own
I'm not afraid of the night
I'm learning how to face it alone
I've been good at holding on
Now I'm learning to let go
I always wondered how I'd live without you
Now I know
I always wondered what I'd do without you
I found out today
I got up and made a cup of coffee
And time just slipped away
I dressed up and went out on the town
To places you'd never go
I always wondered what I'd do without you
Now I know
I'm doing alright
I'm strong enough to make it on my own
I'm not afraid of the night
I'm learning how to face it alone
I've been good at holding on
Now I'm learning to let go
I always wondered how I'd live without you
Now I know
I dress up and go out on the town
To places you'd never go
I always wondered what I'd do without you
Now I know
I'm doing alright
I'm strong enough to make it on my own
I'm not afraid of the night
I'm learning how to face it alone
I've been good at holding on
Now I'm learning to let go
I always wondered how I'd live without you
Now I know

This song saved my life back in the ‘90s. I was in a very bad place after my wife left me. A friend gave me a cassette tape with this song and I wore it out. I wrote to Lari telling her how much this song meant to me and how she saved me. I got a wonderful response from her that I treasure to this day. Lari will always be in my heart ❤.

I'm glad it helped you. I went through a similar thing when I left my wife. It was something that had to be done, but when I'd hear this song, I'd lie in bed and worry so much about her and wondered if she was doing ok without me. The guilt almost killed me. Turns out she did just fine, and I was happy for her.

I agree with you 100%. Quite a few of my favorite country singers started recording in the 90's-Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Shania Twain, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, etc.

Too bad people didn’t feel that way in the 90’s. I’ve been on Country radio since 1994 and I remember how Country ratings were in the dumper in the 90’s. Traditionalists were complaining that it wasn’t as Country as the 70s into mid 80’s. Funny thing how we never seem to figure out what we love until we lose it. I watched Toby Keith on the People’s Choice the other night sing his heart out in what really has become an autobiographical song that he had written years ago for a Clint Eastwood movie. Toby has been disrespected by award shows for years. Now he’s tragically fighting for his life battling stomach cancer and people are now paying attention. I guess that’s better than waiting till he’s a memory like so often happens. Just my two cents.

I was born in the 90s so I have to agree. Garth Brooks was the king but everyone was massively talented.
Really liked this song. The 90s was such a great era for Country. Thanks Lori
Sad she pass away,,,great singer, always listen to her Music,,and I'm 55 years old,,, cancer is a bad thing I lost my husband a year and 4 months ago due to cancer and we didn't even know we had it he was a police officer for 37 years we've been together for 30 years just waiting for the day I can be with him
She was so beautiful
She was a beautiful woman, her eyes looked a lot like one of my Granddaughters and a beautiful voice , especially for this song!! She certainly didn’t look 52 years old at the time of her death!! Gone so soon!!
Such a voice gone too soon. A beautiful woman
Beautiful lady with a great voice..
A gift from God for all to hear. She is with Father! What a special talent!
Lari will always be one of my top favorite female vocalists. Forever on my playlists. RIP Lari, your music lives on and you are missed.

Lost Lari to cancer, broke my heart, helped her with her last album, financially. Loved her to pieces.
This was my anthem when I was going through my divorce. I heard the song on the radio on my way to work, and had to pull over to listen to it. It seemed like she was singing directly into my heart. Thank you, Lari, for giving me strength through your music. Miss you.

She left this world way too soon. She's singing in heaven to packed arenas and to God himself. I'm sure of it.
What a talented pretty woman. Sorely missed buy everyone
All I have to say is. "THANK YOU". Seriously💓💓💓
My wife and I just watched Tom Hank’s Castaway today for the 3rd time and always wondered who played Bettina. After 20 years, I decided to look up the character named Bettina at the crossroads. The cool lady was Lari White. R.I.P.

Actually, did reach Number 1 on the Gavin report. Number 2 on Radio and Records. She should have had many Number 1's. She was never a favorite of the idiot radio programmers, nor were many of my other favorites. Really ticked me off. Used to refer to Lari as the "Queen of Light Rotation". Her and Kelly Willis. Talk about people not knowing great talent. @@jasonstory7318

I've always loved Lari White's music 🎶 Especially the duet with Travis Tritt. Lari is singing with the angels now. Bless her family and friends.
My autistic adult son came up to me a few days after Lari died and said “Poor Lari White.” My heart sank. I knew that meant she was gone. I looked her up to confirm it and burst into tears. Always loved her. RIP, Lari!! 😥💕💕💕

Been a fan of Lari’s since ‘Lead Me Not’. Love her voice. Such a beautiful lady taken from us way too soon. R.I.P.
I loved her voice and thought she was beautiful and had beautiful eyes. I wondered why she had not recorded any more songs and I googled her and found out she had passed away, my condolences to her family, we all lost a great talent.

I honestly never have seen anymore naturally beautiful of a woman among Country Music singers or anywhere. Maybe Kelly Willis. But I put Lari White in the same category as Shania Twain. Others will disagree I'm sure, but I don't care. Loved Shania, but I always preferred Lari. She was the one that held my heart. I was so crazy mad in Love with her! She deserved so much better from the industry then she ever received. She was very special. I want her to be rediscovered so very badly.
Rest in peace Ms. Lari White...
Such a beautiful soul..... She's missed dearly.... RIP' beautiful lady...

"Wishes" was a certified Gol selling Album, but there was more than enough truly great songs on there for it to have easily went platinum. They only released 3 singles, all top 10's. All of her Albums were more than good enough to have gone Platinum. Both Don't Fence Me In" and Steppin' Stone CD's were so brilliant. Neither got much promotion or exposure. They were very poorly marketed and promoted with a poor choice of singles and lack of videos. They really missed the boat on songs time and again that could have been signature's and blockbusters. She could have been and should have been so much bigger than she was. Never was a favorite of the clueless Music directors who stuck her in light rotation for weeks on end. That's assuming that the station actually added the song to the playlist in the first place. How the title track of Steppin' Stone stalled at 15 on Billboard in '98 is beyond me. Every DJ I spoke with assured me it would make at least Top 5. It needed a video for one thing, but also radio programmers who weren't bought off to push certain songs and artists and bury others. That clearly happened all the time to allot of would-be Superstars.
Absolutely A Beautiful🌹Voice And Music Is At Point💓🧚♀️(RIP)🧚♂️🙏
I got to watch her at a a house concert a few years ago. She did a real slow deliberate version of this with just a piano. I was spellbound. She was very nice. No pretentions. I wish she was still with us. God rest her soul.
One of my grandma's favorite songs, we had a VHS tape of her trying to get my brother to sing it, may she rest in peace now 😭

This was my aunt's aka my mom( more like my mom than a aunt) she's been passed for for 10yrs now 😥😥😥
With all my heart, I wish I could have taken her place. She makes me cry, and men are not supposed to.
Beautiful singer
I just heard this song tonight & I ❤ it!
Farewell Lari... Still saddened by your passing. Thank you for writing me, and sending pictures. You are always the best fan-driven artist. Always sweet. Miss you dearly. This was our first song....
Beautiful songs ❤️ thank you country music's
Great tune🏆
Lari White was my favorite female country artist in the 90's and she never got the airplay or recognition she so justly deserved. In my opinion, she should have and even could have been as big as Shania Twain or at least Faith Hill. She was far better vocally then either of them. I loved Shania don't get me wrong, still do. But as time went on, I started to resent her and Faith Hill's level of success as Lari and before that Holly Dunn kept getting jilted by Country Radio. Two of the finest voices ever and great song writers, now both are gone and largely forgotten. Very few people among the younger generation know who they were. I desperately want to see them rediscovered and reevaluated for the tremendous talent that they had. Kelly Willis is another. She should honestly have been the Taylor Swift of the 90's.
just saw her in the cast away movie. RIP lari white ❤
Beautiful
So happy to find this song again. I loved it so much back in the day. Really spoke to me at a time when I was going through a breakup. So sad she had such an early departure. Thank You For The Music. May she rest in peace.

Dearly, loved this woman still do! Lari will always be Number 1 as far as I'm concerned. Radio did not treat her remotely fairly. And please don't forget the likes of Holly Dunn and Kelly Willis who likewise really got screwed over by the industry. Suzy Boggus pretty much the same thing happened to her. Chely Wright too. Lari and Holly where two of the greatest voices ever.
Still listening....freeing my soul through music as always.
